I am not a breeder and I am not looking for any danes. I had a bad experience with another website and I just wanted to make it clear up front that I am not a breeder. I have never bred any dogs or helped anyone else breed dogs. I don't want to have anything to do with puppy mills.
I just want to find a place where I can share my passion for my two beautiful great danes and my family. I love to share stories, ask questions and give advice from my experiences with my danes.
Now that I have that out in open I hope I can still join in and have some pup pals.

This statement is no longer true. Jade was bred to Titan on purpose, not an oops. I'm incredibly disappointed. Especially since no health tests were done prior.

yeah... i even have all the paperwork from my babies momma, and daddy, and shes still a dud... just kidding! i love my lil girl, shes just umm....costly! lol. but i wouldnt trade her for the world. when i just saw this post up i looked, i had seen those dogs on a site before, but i couldnt remember where! and i still cant... but i could have sworn its when i was looking for a breeder! i dont know though, so i cant say for sure. i just HOPE shes doing it right, and the pups get good homes.. its a shame, so many end up in shelters

I actually know this woman (we live in the same state) and I'm really disappointed in her. I know for a fact that absolutely no health testing was done on those animals and Titan is well under two years old to boot.
I'm really frustrated at seeing this because she got her feelings hurt on another board and I tried talking to a few people off the board. I tried telling them that I felt she had good intentions and she said that she wasn't going to breed her dogs. Then this happens and it's like a slap in the face!
She's asked others opinions before on her dogs and she has been flat out told not to breed them. Like I said, I'm really frustrated!

i wish i could find that link to the site, it really looked more like a breeding website than anything, but at the time i didn't say anything because i didn't want to be the instigator. anyways, why did they tell her not to breed on the other board? (curiosity of if there was a health problem with her dogs or something).
the opening page says:
"Our Danes are raised in the home. We love our Danes. All our dogs are registered with American Kennel Club.
We believe in the total package!"
it has litter information, applications, etc also on her page

yeah, 250 deposits to hold a dog. i remember now when i first looked at that page i thought she was a breeder b/c it had the pedigree on there even then.

yeah that outrageous... my pups parents were both tested and registered, her father used to show, and they still only asked 900 for pups at the most.. but she was left till she was 9wks and she dropped the price to 500.

i can see paying 900+ for a show quality, with proven parents, testing, papers, etc etc etc (the WHOLE 9 yards because even then with puppies it's no guarantee) if i intend to show, but 900 for a pet with only papers + no health testing seems like a bit of a big leap of faith.

heaven sakes that is WAAAAYYYYYY too much! IMHO if you are going to be asking for that price range you'll prabably need champion lines with not just a pedigree but an excelent one, and quite a fiew testings, along with a health guarantee on the pupps.

yeah and even then its a bit much... its sad to see people breed pups just to make a quick buck... or in this case, a lot of money

my pup is AKC and she was only 500, this is just horrible to charge that much for a pup without any testing done on the parents. especially because i know theres a lot of people out there who will get taken advantage of because of it

liz that's ok about the links, if they wanna see the site it's on her profile. AKC registered and tested dogs go for about 500-600 here. SHOW quality, gorgeous dogs with championship bloodlines can go for about 900-1200 at most.

Max and Boog were about 800, but they've got champions in their pedigree bla bla bla...., they also both came with a 2 year health guarantee, their parents also had testing done.
Their breeder is now breeding European line danes and the cost of her stud was about 5,600. so doodanes can be verra expensive if youre getting serious.

HEY *my* dog is gorgeous and shes not show quality!!!! lol im jk ;D :D ive never seen one over 1200 myself, but maybe it depends on the area youre in and how hard they are to find there... i dont know, i just think its too much. even though i cant put a price on my baby now (uhhem over 2500.. lol, stupid sickness! just kidding shes priceless) but i wouldnt have bought her if she was that much, show quality or not, theres no health garuntee you can give at all if the parents havent been tested!

yeah i have the 2yr health garuntee too... unfortunately i got the only disease that *wasnt* covered lolololol juuuuust my luck!

to me, there's a big different in spending $2500 on a random puppy, and spending it on your *bestest buddy* who got sick :D what a good friend you are!

he is a beauty! he is from europ (obviously) this is a pic of him, his name is valerio, and.... hahahaha like most studs he LOVES women. when were picking up Boog, Valerio kept coming to me for loves it was so adorable, i swear if i could've picked him up, i would've grabbed him n ran!

we've kinda gotten off subject anyway :) is ok, oh my speaking of cash crop, around here labs are coming out of people's ears! and the BYB's sell em for only 50 to $200, it's so sad, they're a dime a dozen. and the dogs in the shelters, well most of them are crossed with if not fully lab.

where i am pit bulls are all over the place..theyre dirt cheap, and we all know whyyyyyy. :( also small breeds like shih-tzus are allllll over, and cheap cheap cheap!!!

Why bother with a vasectomy...yo u pay the $$ and end up with a dog still wanting to "do it" and all the hormones etc. that you don't have to deal with in a neuter...
I paid $350 when I got Tisha, she was AKC, Parents were tested and father's side had champion lines.
Thorn Was a purebred, but his mom's owners didn't get papers with her. They did have her health tested, and the Father was AKC...because of not having papers he was only $150. Both were healthy pups and considering Tisha lived to be 11 I think we did well. Morgayne on the other hand was $1200 to start, but I got her at 4 months and they dropped her to $800. She was full of worms, peeing blood, yeast in both ears skin allergies....n eedless to say I am NOT happy with that woman...

realy i have no idea why anyone would want their dog to have a vasectomy, but still i thought that ppl are now doing it is interesting.

What topic are we on again? JK ;D I've never heard of a vasectomy for dogs, wouldn't that kinda negate the purpose of controling their hormones? Anywho... we have labs and Aussies all over the place where we are. Cheyenne came from irreputable breeders, no paperwork, no deworming, shots, nothing. Just "here's your dog have a nice day". That's why she became a rescue before we got her. Someone didn't do thier homework to see what they were getting into. She's a great girl and we got lucky so it all worked out. I have so got to post pics of her!
