Does anyone use a shop vac also for a dryer? I was showing hubby different force dryers online for the dogs and he said why not use the shop vac as a dryer too?
Does anyone do this and does it work as well?

I would say probably not, as there is no heating element in a shop vac and there is in the dryer.
Those force dryers can be pretty pricey!!
-
Yea I think that is why he suggested it!!! ;)

You could try using it but I'll bet it will take you forever to dry the coat :-\ I have an air forcer and even with that it takes me 45 min to dry Lily :o I guess it all depends on what kind of dog we are talking about ;)

It will manly be for our springers and that is really just thier ears and feathering. I dont have an adorable Fluff Ball like you!!! :D

For that it would be better using an ionic blow dryer because:
1. It has a heating feature which will help putting hair where it needs to be
2. It doesn't break the hair ;)

I've never done it but I don't see why it wouldn't work.
I usually just towel dry, then use a blow dryer (or two)

It is nice that you already have a "dryer" and don't need to invest in a new one. We have a double-engine dog dryer that gets the job done quickly.

I have been using theshop vac for drying for about a year now and it works great on the Pyrenees. We have a Rigid from HD.I only use the regular heated dryer for finishing.

I guess I can always just try it. Hubby has been wanting to get one for awhile snd just needs an excuse now. Even if it doesnt work on the dogs it will work for other things so it wont be a bad investment! :D
