well i wasnt sure that there was a name for my dogs markings, i mean i knew he wasnt the "ideal" newf, but i showed a pic of him to a breeder and she got all snooty and said "he is what they might call an irish spotted, a mismarked newfoundland" .... poor rota, she called him mismarked... i liked his markings, she said thats what happesn when people buy dogs on impulse blah blah blah.. im kinda mad

Well, He is just beautiful. Mis-marked or not. I just hate snooty people. I'm sure he is just wonderful. :)

Yay Rota! Snooty people suck! Rota is beautiful, that breeder was probably jealous ;)

hahaha!!!!!!!! thanks :D

He's adorable. If you're not in it for show or breeding, "ideal" is in the eye of the beholder. :)

I think his markings are very striking! And I love his 1/2 white tail!

thank you

yes your newf is an irish spotted, but i would never refer to one as miss marked!! i dont believe thay are a favorite in the ring but they are becoming very sought after. i personally love the markings of a irish spotted myself. and actually breeders will breed to get these markings just like they would to get a landseer newf! your baby is gorgeous!!

thanks, i love em!!! you know it is really really hard to keep his white legs clean, the front ones any way, since he drules it drips on to his legs and looks NASTY, i brush it off for the most part but the white there is never really WHITE, except for right after a bath
