Wow, what a great article. Strider has mild hip dysplagia, diagnosed when they were checking him for HOD. It doesn't seem to limit him now, but it is wonderful to at least be aware of the different treatment options availible in the future. Thanks

For every article on joint disease, there is one to contradict.
i do not believe it to be strictly genetic, if it were that simple, we could get it out of the giant breeds, even cross referencing we are not seeing any lower incidance per litter, the odds are same.
i dont buy it.
i have read far to many contraversial studies and articles to lead me to believe that growth rates and diet and muscle tone are huge componants to having healthy hips.

dogs dont walk on their xrays.
and humans suffer from the same thing, i dont see us limiting ourselves having children. LOL ;0)
