Well things have been really busy here with Nala and Tonka. To make matters worse, the neighbor boy behind us has been throwing toys in our yard and the girls have brought everything from plastic dinosaurs, footballs, baseballs, ect... to me and it has been a game to keep away from mommy. Anyway, last Saturday Tonka was playing with a scoccerball that had made its way over the fence, she normally just deflats it then throws it in the air and chases it for some reason all the leather was missing from the ball then we found 2 softballs without leather. Monday she did not want to eat that much but was drinking water very well and went potty, so I just assumed she was full from treats and Kongs. Tuesday she completely declined her food, treats, icecream, yogurt, and everything I tried to give her. I came home to vomit in the floor and a very sick puppy. She went out and did what I thought was going potty and came in and did not eat again. So I went out to look for the poo and there was nothing. Called the vet and was set to take her in on Wed. morning for a drop off appt. Apparently, after running numerous test, she had fabric stuck in her tummy that would not move. So my little angel had emergency surgery to remove this. She is recovering very well and has tried to play with Nala today. I have to go and talk to my neighbors regarding the numerous toys and am not sure exactly how to do it. I just don't want to put Tonka through this again or Nala through it for the first time. If you have any suggestions, please let me know.
Thanks

That's horrible! I'm glad Tonka is recovering very well. We are having some issues with our neighbor has well. I'm sorry I don't have any advice since I need to have a conversation with my neighbor. He is a grown man who has no respect and should no better.

I just think a quiet and respectful face to face talk with Tonka in hand so they can see the incision and maybe even the vet's bill should do the trick!  I'm sure they wouldn't like it if you threw things over your fence that could hurt their son.  You wouldn't do it to them and the parents should take the responsibility to watch their  little boy. Fair is fair!!!

Thanks, I know I was unsure how to approach then I told their son about it when he asked where Tonka was.  I am wondering if he even told his parents. You would think when they see us taking her out on leash they would notice something different, especially since they have 2 dogs also. I just wanted to give myself cooled down before I said anything to them. I think tomorrow or later today would be good. I am taking the vet bill with me though, we had to take her to the emergency clinic Wednesday night and she was in ICU. I am just sad because it is a beautiful day and Tonka can't go out and play.  :(

I would not wish that on anyone. She was so pitiful the night of surgery, we took her to the Emergency Clinic and she just cried and cried. They had to keep giving her morophine.

Poor thing! I'm sure a conversation with your neighbors will help this problem, and if it happens again make them pay the vet bill.

Sorry to hear what Tonka. Poor baby :'( We had a neighbour who kept throwing food and bones over to our dogs. We had to have several talk before it stopped. A few times I just threw the things back over the fence. It never became hostile and it stopped.
Goos Luck.

Thanks, I will definitely give her big hugs and kisses from everyone. I love my girls with all my heart, some people (at work) tried to tell me I was upset over the money, I told them that no matter how much her surgery cost or the vet bills after, she was in ICU the night of surgery. I would handle it. I was upset over my little baby, she is only 10 months old, who did not need to go through this.  Before I can trust that my girls can go outside by themselves in their own yard, it has to be scoped out and I had a hard time letting Nala play outside today without me with her. I kept checking on her every 5 minutes to make sure she did not have something she was not suppose to have. Tonka's energy is coming back and I have to hold her back at times throughout the day until she goes in on Tuesday to get her incisions checked. She is picking up on eating, but can not have any treats because her tummy and intestines were so  inflammed she is on a prescription food and rice w/chicken broth only nothing else. She is so lovable though, she will just come up and want to be rubbed. Well I have to go and tend to my girls. Nala just came in to get me. Thanks for your warm thoughts.
