All the Wonderful Things That...
« on: August 16, 2006, 04:51:34 am »
my dogs, aunts have taught them sense we have moved here

1. to steal my daughters while she is eating - at our house I had my dogs trained to lay down while we ate

2. to chase the cats - they never did this before but now are obsessed about it

3. to chew on shoes - again never happened before in fact they only chewed on thier toys now they chew on everything

4. to belch

5. to jump on bushes

6. to ignore commands

I could go on. Their aunts are a Irish Setter and some small mixed breed (this is the one that growls at everyone, luckly my dog just ignore her). This is driving me crazy, I trained them so well and my mom's dogs have destoryed all my hard work. Please tell me that when we finally finish building our house they will go back to the nice obediant dogs they once were.

Irish Setters are very corruptive.... we gave up as ours legacy of theivery, and bad behaviour has passed down from dog to dog.  So none of your dogs will be well behaved again, sorry.  I definitely know the feeling though.

O how I didn't want to hear that :'(. Abbi has not been corrupted as bad as Molly our Saint. I think this is because Abbi is 2 and Molly is only 1.

Sammy our Setter corrupted our greyhound, the greyhound passed it to the aussie and then the newfy.  It's an endless cycle.  Hopefully once they are away from the influence they'll behave but it's going to be tough to break the bad habits.

The only one that I think I'm going to have trouble breaking will be the chasing cats. And this is a must. We usaully foster cats (were are not at the time because my mom said no) and I can't have my dogs chasing the fosters around.

The Irish Setter is my parents. I could just see her stealing the Tanksgiving dinner too. She is always swiping Anna's food off her highchair. She gets so upset too, but I don't blame her.

You people must be English.

Irish setters never give Irish people all that trouble.  ;D ;)

My maiden name is Murphy ;). So I would not say that.

I will give her one good thing, when my kids are in the yard with her she is on watch. She sits on top of the hill and scans the fence and if anything moves that is not a dog or child then she must investigate the return to her post.
