Instant smell-be-gone? Is there such a thing?
« on: September 21, 2006, 11:08:49 am »
Rosie last got groomed and bathed a week and a half ago. And now she's starting to smell like a 'dog' and her fur is starting to feel kind of thick and dusty. Is there such a thing as pet freshener in an effort to prolong the time between baths? If so, what brand do you use? Would a leave-on detangler freshen her up or will that just put a fresh scent on her top coat and leave that stinky dog smell underneath?

We use the Earthbath Spritz on Drake and it works great.  It's all natural, conditions his coat and it helps him smell good between baths.  You just spray them, rub it in and brush them out.  It's handy to buy two, one for your house and one to keep in your car if you bring Rosie to someones house and she doesn't smell too good.  You can find this stuff at most pet stores. Here's a link to it.

You may already do this, but you really need to brush Rosie every day too.  We use an undercoat rake at least once a week and we use a carder every day.  This will really help with the smell, hot spots and just the general health of Rosie's coat.  Spraying stuff on their coat once in a while is probably OK, but every day can't be good.  Hope this all helps you, let us know what happens.
