No newf for us

Well we aren't getting a newfy. Because of the pet embargo and us going home for my brothers wedding and the breeder not being able to hold him until January for us we can't get him.  :-[

I am so sorry. Things will be ok. Just hang in there and I'm sure after the holidays a pup will be available. Your breeder makes me mad too.  >:(

What's the pet embargo??? Is there any way that I can help from this end (i.e. have the breeder fly your pup here and we'd foster???)  Let me know!

Aww that is really sweet of you to offer, but I mentioned to the breeder that Tim's family would look after him until we could get there and then we would have him but she didn't want to put the puppy through all the confusion. Which is totally understandable .
I am trying to believe that everything happens for a reason. Maybe it is beacause there is another fur ball out there waiting for us. In the mean time we are looking at rescues.

Edit- Forgot to add what the pet embargo is, During certain dates mid December to med January airlines are not allowing pets to fly.

Ahh man, i'm sorry.

Is there anyway you could arrange a transport by ground?  Plus have you tried the freight carriers...I'm pretty sure there are some that fly pets.

I'm very sorry this pup didn't work out for you :-\. 

I sometimes have a hard time with it but my husband stands by the phrase if it is meant to be it will and otherwise there is something/someone etc out there that is waiting for the perfect time to show up.

Sorry you are disappointed.

Know how you feel but same thing happened to me and beleive me it was worth the wait when i went to get my new pup Ijust knew he was the one for me and so did he because he made straight for me it just was meant to be and he settled in to his new home within a few hours.I couldnt beleive it .

AWWW- Not fair at all- we all know how excited you were. DARN. If there is anything any of us can do - just say the word. You will get a Newf, maybe it will happen right after the holidays.

Darn Nina.  I'm so sorry.  If it's not this pup, then I'm sure there is just the right one out there for you.  I rescued Barkley and in turn, he rescued me.  I am a firm believer that you can never go wrong with (a) Newfs and (b) rescued Newfs!!!

If you should change your mind and decide to speak to Char again about the fostering, I don't know if it would help if you mentioned that we had offered to foster.  Not that Tim's family is not qualified, but just thinking it might help your cause if she knew it was someone she knew.

I believe that everything does happen for a reason. I am hoping to adopt Ash the 10 month old weimaraner that Amber is fostering. I filled out the adoption application. I really hope that we are the lucky family that gets to adopt him.

I checked with Continental airlines and there is NO pet embargo - at least not with Continental.  This is the only air transport I use as they do a wonderful job with puppies.  What airline were you trying?

That is so disapointing! how sad for you! i have had many people need me to hang on to the pup longer and i say the longer i have them the better, the more time with mom and adults for socializing!
that is to bad :(
