are white danes common? I don't think I've ever seen one before.

White danes are usually called "deaf" danes and have at least one small spot of coloring somewhere on their bodies (they are  NOT albino).

They happen when you cross harlexharle and a few other genetic combinations together...tha t are considered no no's when breeding.

I know someone out there can probably explain it a little better than I can.

I'm still totally jealous of all these dane pups!!!

Final count on the litter born lastnight.
7 pups, one still born... all females except one. 1 harl, 1 merle the rest black and whites... pictures to come

We are thrilled to know that the white pup is staying in the family.

Somewhere there is a big paw for hubby.  No hurry as we (me)are also getting those two Italian Mastiffs next month.
