none yet, i haven't gotten to explore too much though!  maybe we could talk to a state park and see if they'd be ok if we met there, so long as we "picked up?"  here's a dog friendly atlanta list, but keep in mind we should call hotels and make sure they're ok with big paws, as some have a size limit.

Oh ladies - this is so exciting!  I wish I lived in a HUGE house so everyone could stay there for a SE slumber party!  But back to reality for me  :(

On your list Jen... The North Druid Hills location is most centrally located and in a pretty safe area. It is within the city limits and about 6 miles from downtown.

As for the Marrow location... I wish I could say if its safe or not, but I've never been... I can say I don't recall ever really hearing anything bad reported in the news from Marrow. :) It is about 15 miles from Atlanta.

I hope this info helps some.

What else can I do to help?

just called hubby and he said it's a decent area.  it would cost a LOT to cab from there to atlanta, and vice versa though  :-\

here's a website for tourism in morrow
www.morrowtour ism.com

gonna see if i can find out how much a cab would be, but not sure if i can find that online.

just under 18 miles away  :-\  if you mapquest it, the addy for piedmont park is Piedmont Park, 1215 Piedmont Ave Ne, Atlanta, GA 30309, US

i went to atlride.com and got a quote, they said for a taxi, their charge is $2 per mile no extra charge for additional riders.

I don't know what everyone else is thinking, but the distance doesn't put me off too much.  Lets do this ... anyone post any hotels that are closer than 20 miles from Piedmont park, with no dog limits, or weight limits, and we can check them out.  We do want to make sure we're somewhere safe though, with plenty of parking and potty room.  And we want to move quick.

Sound good guys?

Check out this link:
http://www.dogfriendly.com/server/travel/uscities/guides/us/cities/usonlinecityGAAtlanta.shtml

Most of these listings are within 10 miles of the city and all are within 15. Plus, they seem to all be in safe areas. Of course, I am used to living in this city so your mileage may vary. As far as the multiple dog thing... I think you will have to call them about that.

Parking at the park can be challenging. Most of it is off-street and on the opposite side of the park from the dog park area.

Also, for what it's worth. The Master's Golf Tournament is in Augusta that weekend. Doesn't mean much for Atlanta traffic, but the airport will definitely be more crowded than normal. And normal at Atlanta airport is busy.

Jenn - what did you come up for restaurants?  I've been feverishly searching for places, as my pups are not "restaurant worthy" so I haven't had them out dining with me.

1)Park Taven is a pup/restaurant at the park that allows pups. www.parktavern.com

2)Brewhouse Cafe is in Little Five Points.. the alternative, funky section of town www.brewhousecafe.com

3)Mellow Mushroom are pizza joints around town www.mellowmushroom.com

I am still on the hunt, researching... .   :)

Please note that per a new City of Atlanta ordinance, and for the safety of our patrons, no pets will be allowed in the park during festival hours. This ban does NOT apply to service animals for disabled persons, canines that are pre-registered for the ADF competition, or the off-leash dog area.
