quick question
« on: March 21, 2007, 09:28:37 am »
 :)

Hi i have a question if anyone can help

We have just been training with callie our leo who is 6 months old now , and the trainer said she is small really for a leo and that she will not get any taller now she has reached 6 months old, which does not bother me at all apart from she has lots of excess skin to grow into.

My question is  simply at what age do leo's reach thier height , as i thought they could carry on getting taller up untill they were 12 months old. I may be wrong but i thought at some point i read this on the internet when researching leos.

thanks alot tracey.

here you are i added some pics of callie now aged 6 months. Her weight is 78lb at just over 6 months.

i also thought they stopped growing up at 1 y/o, the chart confirms it though ha ha.  after 1 or 2 they start to fill out (age depending on breed).  i forgot to say welcome to the board also ha ha.

wow, i'd never even heard of that dog or seen one before. i just looked them up to read about them. those are really cool looking, awww...she's so cute. she doesn't look too small to me! haha i guess all the big ones take years to finish growing cause i know the pyrs do. my pups dad is just now at his full mass and is almost 3. talk about slow growing!

Your trainer is very misinformed.

She still has A LOT of growing to do.  She'll reach her maximum height around 9-12 months and like everyone says she'll fill out later.  It took my boy 4 years to reach his maximum potential which was mostly waiting for his mane to fill out.

Where are you located?  You must have leo buddies somewhere close by to hang out with and compare?  The LCA is a WEALTH of information so I would suggest reading their site and joining the leolist if you haven't already.

Callie's a cutie.
