This stuff is so crazy. I really thought that it would've been fixed by now. Thank God our food wasn't effected.  :) And thanks for keeping this thread alive.
Hugs,

I am so glad that our food wasn't effected too, but my heart is breaking for those that have been effected.  :'(

My parents feed their cats Royal Canin wet food and last year they had to take it back twice because the cats wouldn't eat the food. I wonder if they knew it was bad? Makes you wonder huh?

This makes me sick!  I watch the nightly news every night and our local station has not covered this story once!  It angers me to think most people aren't aware of the situation and how important it really is.

There are new foods added yet again in the link Jenn posted.  :'(

Here's the new food with the others we already knew about. These are WET foods only. I can't believe Go! Natural and Performatrin Ultra are on that list.  :(

UGH!!  The scary thing is I don't see this slowing down anytime soon.  Now that the human food has also found to be contaminated we'll be doing all our produce shopping at our local organic farms and buying meats from small farmers we know.  This is just awful!

OH my this is horible! Somehow I felt it would only be a matter of time before this would happen. Now even grain free food is effected!
I am so glad that we are feeding Harley raw now, and I think that I may even switch Jolene (cat) to a raw diet as well!

this is getting out of hand  :-\ they should really make it mandatory that the US is self contained and not importing any foods when we have all the things we need to support ourselves here.  we just don't use / put them together.

i really wish we had a local farm.  unfortunately though, we don't, but i'm looking for a farmers market, maybe i can find someone there that sells meat also.  tried to talk hubby into buying a few chickens but he said "NO!"

We get our raw food directly from our vet, and any other food we get is manufactured from a farm in Saskatchewan.

We also need to watch out for food that we buy for our selves! :o

You made excellent points Jenn!  So many times we reach for the "convenience foods", not thinking taking into consideration how it's affecting our health.  I'm actually REALLY please to see more people reporting about this on the news and in the papers.  Tony's been doing his part too talking to people at his work (from what I've told him) about the contamination of dog foods and people foods trying to educate people more, I'm soooo proud of him! hahahha  This thread has really been great at keeping everyone updated on the situation, thanks bunches!

Go! Natural is a grain free food. I know the dry food isn't recalled but if the wet food was...

Yeah when I check out their website to see if they were in fact grain free, I noticed they said that. I think they need to update their site  >:(

You know if the wet food was recalled it is just a matter of time before the dry is.

If you Google various dog foods' names, and recall together, you get similar recalls spaced out over the past 3-5 years.  Of course, none were as highly publicized.  I may be a conspiracy theorist, but I just think this has been going on for quite some time ...

Jenn I'm with ya girl!  You know I get paranoid and investigatey over little things but I've been doing a lot of research on this stuff and I think it's been going on for awhile.  I keep coming back to the question "How come most older cats die from kidney disease or failure?"  It just seems like it's too much of a coincidence.  I've been doing lots of research on cats, their digestive systems and the food we feed and I'm finding out lots of very interesting things!
