Mabel went to the vet...
« on: June 15, 2007, 01:31:33 am »
...and it was pretty good news.

The vet thinks she's at least 10! TEN! Wow. I knew that she was no spring chicken, but that presents a whole new set of considerations .

He said that she is very very healthy for 10, though. Her teeth look great and she is in good shape. She's HW negative and spayed. (They found a spay tatoo when they shaved her belly)

He gave her a shot and some prescriptions for the incontinence. He told us to give her an aspirin a day for her achy hips. He thinks that they might be a little inflamed, but nothing too major.

Wow, guys. I just fell in love with a 10 year old dog. Wow.

awwww Nicole! Such a distinguished lady, Mabel is!  So glad the vet appointment went well... it sounds like your Mabel will be sticking around for a long while!  :)

p.s. what incontinence meds did the vet prescribe.... Ellie has been spay incontinent since she was about 8 months old... so I like to keep up on all the treatments out there.

Hey Rachel,
I don't know, because Mark and Molly took her to the vet. I just got the run-down from Molly. (My 13 year old daughter, haha!)

I'll let you know tonight. I guess it was a shot and 2 different meds?
