Posting Pictures: How To.

I've posted pictures before, as attachments, but I was wondering how you posted them in the body of the text. I've attempted to copy/paste but that doesn't  work because apparently my computer doesn't think I've copied anything, or it hates me (I'm convinced it's the latter) Any help would be great, thanks!
