Well Stump, I hate to say it this way...but I find a dog with a short stub very sexy.  Grace loves those stubby-tailed boys too.   so watch it when you get back on your paws.  the girls are gonna be all over you.

Poor Merlin (and poor you!) We will be keeping fingers and paws crossed for a fast and easy surgery as well as recovery.  I have to agree with Grace Stumpy tails can be very cute (my prior doggie was a springer spaniel)

Best of luck

Randy & Harley

PS If Merlins tail was like Harleys at least you don't have to worry about drinks getting knocked off the coffee table anymore

Sorry to hear Merlin will be losing some of his tail.  But I'm sure it will be a quick recovery.  When my friend's danes' tail was amputated, he recovered very quickly and was back to wagging his now shortened tail shortly.

Hugs out to Merlin.

Good for you for trying so hard to save the tail tip.  I didn't see a post about what caused the problem, but we had a Vizsla who had constant tail injuries from wagging it into things.  If I could have done it all over again, I would have gone along with out Vet. who advised removing the tip.

Now I miss her.  She made it to age 17.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery.  Ditto his having a really long tail to start with.  Cute scarf, too!
