whole dog journal
« on: January 21, 2008, 06:51:45 pm »
does anyone have any expired journals that they don't want any more? ALSO...the feb. issue came out and the annual food reviews are there... you would never believe what has happened to all the good foods!!! there is a 70% decrease in the foods on the list, because the brands would not give any information on the manufactureing of the food!!!!!

If anyone would like to post the newest list for those of us whose husbands are now unemployed >:( and joys such as WDJ are a thing of the past it would be most appreciated :)

unfortunatly they have locked the wdj so you can't copy it.  It is odd, it is in  a graph now because of all the recalls that happened in the past years.  It tells you what  brands are no longer on WDJ list and why, and the good ones are explained with the graph wit the ingredients in it.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for posting the list!!! Hmmm only Canidae All Life Stages is listed wonder why their other types are not??

Intresting to see 2 foods made by Diamond on the list chicken soup and Precise Pet Products Adult (according to the feed store Precise IS Daimond?). Precise is very reasonably priced I may have to look into switching 2 of mine to it.

Interesting.  I know she has been having trouble with her manufacturer and that is why is has been impossible to get canned Solid Gold, but I wonder what the deal is... Thanks for looking that up.

I just looked up why it was excluded from the list this year ... apparently Solid Gold didn't return calls from WDJ about "origin of manufacture".

Whats the saying Dr.Phil always uses..."Those who have nothing to hide hide nothing at all"
Its a shame so many of the past good ones did not want to give their information. Does have to make one stop and wonder what they are all hiding.

No Natural Balance either.  I thought it was on the last list?  Oh well...Laney loves it and does well on it so I guess thats all that matters...

I get whole dog journal as well and they said that they are going to review the "grain free" dog food separately in next month's issue.

For future reference, when Cody goes to big girl food, is Eagle really a good brand and is it grain free? The store that I'm currently getting her food from carries Eagle and highly promotes it. I know that some of the breeders around here use it.

Sorry, I'm not up on this subject.
