Tha's so sweet!!...Samson isn't a jump up & hug ya' kind of guy but he does lay his head on my shoulder when I am driving & on my knee when I am sitting on the couch...That's his hug equivalant...A ll Pippin does so far is whack me in the head with his big puppy paws when I am lying on the floor...lol!

Gyps,  try teaching the wack in the head as a pyr paw, and put his paw in your had when you say it.  That has worked with Sugar Bear and Dixie Darlin.  I am teaching Dixie "Give me love" for a hug, then maybe we can teach her when not to jump on us.  Sugar Bear is not a jumper, he just want to lay in your lap when you sit on the floor, I love it! He is my 100 lb. lap baby.

your pic are so cute. We taught Toester not to jump when she was a pup so now she will not jump up and put her paws on my shoulders and when I tried she got down before I even got them all the way up. Darn dog she never listens to anything else I taught her.  :(

Actually Mr. Grey is too lazy to jump up on anything but the couch  :P I had to lift him up to get that picture. It was the very first time I did this with him and I was surprised that he gave me a "hug"

That is exactly how Bear does it. He only jumps when he knows you want him to!

I couldnt teach Mr. Grey to do that, he is just too darn lazy LOL My husband made a comment last night about Grey and "his" couch. He said Grey would be just as happy if he was outside laying by a fresh cow dropping along as he had his couch with him LOL The sad part is I wouldnt be surprised if it was true.
