Big Dog Beds
« on: July 13, 2008, 01:49:41 pm »
What is a good place to get dog beds for big dogs that are not very expensive??

I need to get one for Tank!

My Mom and I checked at TSC but their big ones were pretty expensive.

$20.00 would be a nice, but, anything under $25.00.

The cheapest I've ever seen a large bed $30-40. I know BJs (similar to costco) has one, and I also have a great one from Target (much nice, but same price). I have two ideas for you instead of buying one if you really need to keep it under $25:

1. Do you know how to sew? If you do, I highly suggest you make you own. You can find a sturdy cheap fabric and buy a couple yards, then fold and sew with a velcro or ziper closing. Then stuff it with polyfill or foam.

2. My dogs have always loved to sleep on our old comfortors. If you have one or two comfortors you can use it as a thin bed (you could buy some at a thrift store and wash them if you don't have old ones).

Well, We would rather have a bed since out doxies will not pee on it. They will pee on comforters on the floor.

My Mom is going to look at Target for a doggie bed.

Yup!  The cover zips off and you can just toss it in the washing machine and dryer.  ;)

I've always taken old people pillows and pile them together.  you can throw those in the washer.  Also, Walmart has those huge body pillows for about $10.  you could get a couple of those.

We also bought one at Costco a few weeks ago.  It's huge and made of super thick egg crate foam.  Sammy can lay on it with plenty of room to spare and it's 3-4" thick with an attractive zippered cover.  Ours is a blue & yellow striped fabric that looks like it could be used on patio cushions & it's water resistant.  I know 'cause someone peed on it the other day and the liquid was still beading up on the cover when I found the accident.  One of the best $20 I've ever spent.   ;)
