Bones For Berners
« on: December 21, 2008, 06:56:08 am »
Hi everyone! I have a now 7 month old Berner Nelson, and I was wondering what are the best bones to get him to chew on? I don't enjoy giving him rawhide because he seems to chew them so darn fast that it makes me a little nervous. I found a "tibia" bone at petco and was wondering everyone's thoughts on bones to give him that won't upset his tummy and that will keep him entertained.

Warm Holiday Wishes to all!
PS Nelson is the features daily puppy today on www.dailypuppy .com :)

I give mine frozen marrow bones as well.  They love them and I've never had a problem with any upset tummies.

Congrats on the Berner he is adorable. They grow FAST so take tons of pictures.

My Tucker is 9 months old (will be 10 months on the 27th) and he gets the occasional frozen marrow bone.  We gave up on rawhide a while ago because as you mentioned, its chewed up in less than 10 minutes most times! Not worth it.
