as you know, my cousin just got a Dobie puppy, Kobe.  Here's his issue.

Took Kobe home Wednesday night & had to take him back Thursday morning cause he had shook his ears loose from the brace they had them tapped to.  They said they wanted to keep him til Saturday & now  they may keep him longer cause he will not leave his ears alone.  Just trying to figure out if there is a trick to making them leave them alone, with out keeping him sedated. Even those cones around his neck did not make a big difference, but helped

thanks for any suggestions.  boy his grammer stinks.

I know there was another thread about this, but I can't remember where it is. Sorry I don't have any suggestions. I do know that they need to be taped for a long time, So he has to come up with something. He can't have his dog sedated for months at a time. I try and find the thread I think it was in the dane area.

I did a search and found it by typing in tampons. lol I remember people mentioning that they used them inside the ear.

I copied the responses and emailed them to him.  He's going to flip and call me stupid.  Smiley

Just try everything you can to keep them immobile.  Be careful he doesn't pop a stitch. Party cups, tampons, whatever works.  It can be hard, but after a couple of days he should get used to it.  Good luck to your cousin.

Nina

Its nice to see I have made my indelible mark on BPO by cementing the word "tampons" into an ear taping thread.  My mother would be so proud!!! LOL

Kizmet's ears were done way before we got him, so we didn't have to deal with the first few days.  I'll ask his breeder if she has any special tricks as well.  Keep us posted on the little DoberDude's ears!!!

He he he I thought it was you that posted about the tampons, but I wasn't positive.
Yes you have made quite the impression... but in a good way of course.
