New and Improved Big Paws
« on: January 20, 2006, 04:51:04 am »
Hey everyone I wanted to announce some upgrades to the Big Paws Only web site. As you'll notice if you go to the home page, Blog and other related pages, there is a major redesign in layout and aesthetics. Bigger changes on the back end (but probably more unnoticeable) include platform independent compatibility, XHTML strict and usability adherence. There are several little bugs here and there and we’re going thru them as we can but feel free to let us know what you find! The biggest change, our upgrade to the forums, is coming soon. We’ve got some exciting new features we’re adding but the work behind it is enormous so this will come in as phase 2 and should be published in a couple of weeks. We hope you like it!

Thanks AC, that was another thing that was bothering us - we struggled for a while with the old layout but it was really tough to fix without just redesigning it from the ground up - which was necessary to do it right.

Glad you noticed!

Thanks,
Michael

No problem. I've been designing (practicing) tableless layouts for around a year now and the more I discover the more I like CSS. I will never lay out a website with tables again. :D

Edited to add: Damn Internet Explorer 5.5!! ;D

Michael, since you are redesigning everything, can I make a suggestion for you to consider?

If someone has a signature, there is a line under their post, then their sig, then the next persons post starts on another. But if they don't have a sig, there is no line and the next persons post starts on the same line that there post ends on. That has been driving me crazy because I wish every post had a line under it.
