Loki has an amazing story: His mother came in pregnant to the rescue and gave birth to five puppies, two stillborns. Loki was one of the ones born dead (No heartbeat, no movement nothing) and after working on him for nearly 5 minutes, I was able to get his heart started and his lungs working. (unfortunatly the other one didn't make it..) After that he wouldn't nurse, so I carried him around with me and tube fed, then bottle fed him- we bonded incredibly close, and he was my little miracle dog. He slept inside my shirt against my heart for days and I would wake up every couple of hours to feed him and make him go to the bathroom. Finally he began to nurse again, but I still suplimented his food with tubes. He came to live with me until the perfect home came along (Everyone wanted this beautiful blue eyed baby, but I was very very picky about where we adopted him out to) and when he was only 16 weeks old, the meter-reader let him out of the backyard by accident. I had just put him outside while I was in the shower, and the idiot didn't even check to see if there was someone in the backyard, though I had "Beware of Dogs" signs. He traveled down to the highway in a minute flat and was hit by a car. I was able to rush him to the vets and discovered his hips had been SHATTERED (over 20 breaks) but I couldnt let him go, he put his head on my shoulder and leaned all his weight against me and I just knew he wanted to try- so we rebuilt his hips in titanium. It only took him 2 months to learn how to walk again- and he never limped again. He's truely a miracle dog.
GOOOOOOOOOOO LOKI!!!!
