Which fence would you want?

I'm installing a new fence starting probably next week, and can't decide between these 2 types, I like the look of wood better than chainlink, and a privacy fence is out for the amount of area I am fencing in, and high winds during hurricane season.  My only concern with the picket type is that the spacing of the posts would need to be wide enough to not get doggie paws stuck in them if they jump up on it.  We will also be using an electric wire on the inside along the bottom.

What do you think? Any experiences good or bad with these 2 types?

Rail Fence with no-climb wire inside

I have always like the rail and wire fence.  Its classic and would not block any of your view, if you have one.   I think the picket fence just feels so closed in almost like a privacy fence.  But that is just my opinion.

I like the rail fence better...looks wise.  it reminds me of a Dude Ranch!

I like the rail and wire type.   If you do use chain link you could go with the green.

This is probably getting way too personal, but what the heck.. this is our house, and would really like to know what you think would look better with our house style, which is kinda funky because of the roof :)

Stain it to match your house and no one will complain.  I love stain.  Dress things up.

I like the rail fence too. My friend has a picket fence and when Flynn visits, he just rips one of the pickets out to get in the small yard near the house if you turn your back for 30 seconds.

I agree with everyone else, the rail will look great with your house, very  nice house by the way.

I have my whole back yard fence in with privacy fence about 7', I was afraid it would look closed in, but its about an acre, so it really doesnt AND the back yard is for the dogs anyway lol. I will put up a fence in front though, but not to fence in dogs more for looks, and then I love the kinda low white picket fences (not suitable for dogs lol) and then plant roses on the inside. But for fencing in dogs I love either rail fences or privacy. Mind you we dont have the winds to worry about.
