Wasn't sure if I should post here or under rescue.
Hello,
Many of you know me or know of the rescue group that I work with (National Anatolian Shepherd Rescue Network
www.NASRN.org) .
I don't know about you folks but with the price of gas being what it is, filling transports from TX to or AZ to CA has been really difficult. People who, in the past, were willing to drive just can't afford to help out anymore.
To help alleviate this problem my husband and I have recently become licensed with the USDA as a Transport Carrier and we are hoping to offer affordable transport to rescue dogs within the states of AZ, CA, NM and TX.
Unfortunately, we do have jobs, kids, and animals here at home so this is not a "full time job" for us, rather something we will do once a month. If we can get enough reservations to make the trip ecomically feasible we will make a trip in October from Phoenix to LA and then to the Bay Area, and then back again to LA and back home to Phoenix picking up and dropping off dogs along the route. This would be over a two day time span.
We have purchased a new 24 ft Haulmark box trailer, it is climate controlled and has a drop down ramp on the back. All of our kennels are new Vari Kennels. We do have several Jumbo sized kennels for the giant breed guys/gals. The trailer has been inspected and approved by the USDA and we are set up in accordance with the Animal Welfare Act.
We charge a flat fee of $150. If gas keeps dropping and gets back down to around $2 a gallon we hope to be able to drop the fee to $125.
If you have any dogs that you might need to move to/from the CA and AZ areas, please let me know.
We are also planning a trip from Phoenix to Dallas, then back from Dallas to Los Angeles.
If you have any questions, I am more than happy to answer them.
