« on: January 05, 2007, 01:07:59 pm »
Today is a sad day  :'( hubby and I have 2 backyard ponds set up for the past 3 yrs now, We had a wonderful variey of pond fish Koi, Shubkins, Comets some were as long as hubby's hand and we really enjoyed sitting by and watching them in the summer. Well with our crazy winter weather this year, ALL my fish are dead  :'( Darn this weather!!!

OH NO!!  I love koi, I could sit and watch them forever!  We have been having weird weather lately, it could be warm one day and freezing rain the next!

i thought coy would freeze up with the water?  a guy here told me that when his pond unfreezes in the spring, the fish thaw out and just start swimming again... just a thought, not sure if he was exaggerating.

Oh no.   :(  Sorry about your fish.  Maybe a heater would be a good idea.

Oh no....  I'm sorry.  I do hope you get more fish though.  I know how nice it is to have them.

I do have a pond heater but with it being like +10 for awhile hubby took out the heater so now it all comes out.... HE KILLED the fish... but they are used to the temp change because if it gets too warm the heater shuts off and it hasn't been on for awhile but acouple nights ago it got quite cold ... DARN HIM and DARN the weather >:( Guess I know what I'm getting for my b-day  ;)
