Poor Brutus and poor you. All I can suggest is starting from the beginning. Back to Basics as they say! Praise and treats to go outside. Taking him out every 2 hours or what ever your schedual allows this will help him to understand the concept peeing/pooping outside is good and positive things happen ie praise and treats. Other than crating him that is really the only thing I can think of. Is there any other way to stop him from getting into the living room. Maybe he feels thats his comfort spot.
The other thing to is catching him the act. A loud stomp on the floor and a stern NO starled Titan enough he stopped peeing and we quickly took him outside he finished we praised and clapped and treated. It olny took a couple of times...my theory is if you dont catch them making the mistake how are they ever going to figure out that that kind of behaviour is wrong :) Good Luck!!

Modified to add: Brutus is soooooo cute and fluffy!!

I can relate. We found Titan the same way. I went to work in the morning came home around noond to find cow paddies EVERYWHERE! And he was happy to see me but had poop on his tail so now we had to clean poop from the floor and poop from the walls!
Poor thing... hope he's feeling better today!  :-*  :)

Titan LOVES this thing.... we fill it with everything.... carrots, treats, uncooked beans, kibble. EVERYTHING that cant spoil we put in he loves it. It will keep him going for quite some time! Titan rolls it with his paw backwards and a friend came over with her lab and she rolled it forwad with her nose.... to each there own as long as it keeps spitting out the food they could care less!! :)

Yeah, you know that's what they say when you're dieting.  If you eat more small meals, you won't feel as hungry, so you can more easily eat less.  Eating fewer, larger meals should make him more eager for the ones he gets.
WHY am I only learning about his NOW!!! I could use to drop about a billion pounds!! LOL ;) I am off to eat! Thanks again!

I just wanted to add I love how I started this post completley fed up with kibble and was going to cook for my dog....now with the power of BPO you all have made me see the light and the error of my ways!! ;)
