Hi! We have a dilema, we can't decide on a name for a male chocolate lab pup...
Please help!!!
-
How about some Newfoundland and Labrador words to consider. Here's a few with meanings:
GALING - Laughing and joking, in a good mood where everything seems funny.
GATCH - To show off.
LADDIO - Bit of a rascal.
LAWNYA - thoroughly enjoyable time, exactly to one’s liking (a child let loose in a toy shop would have lawnya).
or names of communities here:
BOTWOOD
CODROY (Codroy Valley)
COLEY (Coley's Point)
ODERIN
OKAK
RAMEA
RUSHOON
TILTON
I'm sure you'll come up with a great name.
-
Thanks!!
We were thinking of something that means chocolate, or a chocolate brand, such as hershie or caramel
we also like Dudley, Trooper, Stanley, Bunger, Dozer and Duke... but not everyone agrees on the same name!!
Anyone have any suggestions??
-
Male chocolate lab puppy?
WONKA!
:D
-
How about:
Snickers
Brach
Cocoa
Truffle
Penn (after Hershey, Pennsylvania? That's a stretch, I know)
-
Male chocolate lab puppy?Â
WONKA!
:D
that one's cute...so is cocoa
-
If I ever had another Chocolate colored dog, I always said that I'd probably name it Turtle for a boy and Godiva for a girl(calling her Diva for short). However, that was before looking around and I found these other cool chocolate names (mostly company/brands):
Teuscher
Shtuchka
Skor
Ferrero Rocher(either could be used)
Shenfeng
Tresor (from Tresor Dore)
Glico
Meiji
Lotte
TimTam (new zealand choc candy)
-
Oh! I like Wonka! That's awesome!!

I don't know how well Wonka will work with the commands
"Wonka, DROP", "Wonka, sit" :P
any other suggestions?? :)
-
How about "Mocha"
-
Or how about:
Charlie (and the chocolate factory) - longshot :)
Toblerone - TOBY for short
Cadbury
Nestle
I like Hershey too.

Well, if Wonka won't work, then you are REALLY not going to like Ghiradelli!  ;D
I think Mousse is pretty cute!

I don't think "Wonka sit" is so bad.
I took me a while to figure out I had a slight problem when I was teaching Jack the "off" command.
Tina
:D LMAO!!!

LOL. Mousse is very cute... what do you guys think about Reeses?

What does the puppy remind you of. We always look at the puppy and it named itself. Believe it or not we named Gretchen after the singer Gretchen Wilson because out Gretch seemed to be a h*ll raiser LOL
-
You could do "Chocolate Drop" and call him "Drop". Drop...DOWN Drop.....SIT etc. :D
-
What great suggestions on here. So inventive.
How about Peanut? After one of my favorite treats Reeses peanut butter cups. Mmmmmm. Plus, Peanut makes a great name for a big dog....lol
Or York (peppemint patty). Oh Henry? Clark (bar)? S'more? Keebler?
Here's a few lesser known chocolate candy names:
Uno
Chunky (maybe not the BEST name, but would be funny)
Goober
Idaho Spud
Ice Cube
Reisen
Toffifay
Whatchamacalli t (again funny, but a bit of a mouthful)
Zero
Aero
Chewy
Rolo
Scharffen Berger
Giannois
I've met several rabbits named Cadbury, but I think it would make a great dog name. I also liked the suggestion of Wonka, very cute.

Goober!! That is so adorable!! :D

How about just Reece/Reese. My favorite uncle's name was Reece.

Reviving an old topic...
Ok, so I'm finally getting my puppy, in 8 days!
Does anyone have any more name suggestions? It's going to be a male chocolate lab. And it doesn't have to do with chocolate or brown or anything :)
Thanks!!
-
I like Quincey ;D

How about Kiss like a Hershey Kiss or my all time fav Justice.

Fred.
Thor. (My gramma's Chocolate lab is named Thor! hehehe!)
Frisco. (Ghiradelli is in San Fransisco....)
Hmm....
Schokolade.... .Its chocolate in German. hahaha!
-
::bump::!
-
Hmmm.......... .doesn't have to be chocolate related?
Well, how about another biblical name to go with Sampson?
Cain
Abel
Ahab
Ishmael....... ..could call him Ishy.......... lol
Saul
Moses
As long as you don't go with Coco, any name should be fine. You don't know how many chocolate labs I have met named Coco. And people think they are being original. (no offense to anyone with dogs named Coco :) )
-
We were thinking about another Biblical name, but didn't find one as good as Samson :)
Our favorites so far are Rocky, Benny, Cooper, and Dooley... I think when we see him we will know :)
But we're still open for more suggestions! ;D
-
I found that I thought of a dozen names for my Tibetan Mastiff puppy. But when I first met him they all went out of the window and he was Flynn immediately.
Maybe when you get him home and he will 'tell' you what his name is. I have a friend who's puppies are often called s**thead for the first few days till a name suggests itself. :)
-
here is one-Russel (for the brand of chocolate russel stover) or you could name him fudge or fudgie. how about chip or chipper (chocolate chip)?
shellie and hugo~
-
Coco doesn't seem like a real lab name to mean anyway... whenever I hear it I think of the Norfolk terrier who won one of the dog shows :P
-
I took Kiah to playgroup and this guy was adopting a dog and they were trying to come up some names. Here's a couple to think about.
Ramone
Simon
Ceasar
Ren (from ren & stimpy)
Charlie

You're lucky - I think of that bird/plane/palm tree from the cartoon fosters Home For Imaginary Friends... yup, I watch too much Cartoon Network for my own good. ;D

Hahahahhaa.... ............"coco.......... coco.......... coco.......... coco".............. I am annoyed that is the only thing she can say.
And my piano teacher growing up had a chocolate lab named Coco. Since then I've met about 4 other choc lab coco's.
