That is so amazing Blair!   ;D  Now I know I'm not the only insane person around.  lol

We'll have to go diving together!  Do you have the documentary Air Jaws 1 & 2?  Its so amazing!  Last year, Tori and I went to the sleepover at the NY Aquarium and one of the ladies there actually worked with the guys who did that documentary!  We talked about Great Whites for hours.  lol

Too cool!  :D
: Re: Africa cam
: Moni October 02, 2005, 04:18:34 AM
That would be fun Holly!  We'll have a BPO Great White dive someday.  :D  Wouldn't that be a blast!?!

It took the fact that I had no money to keep me from driving to CA to see the baby GW that broke all the captivity records and also the one that got lost in MA inlets last year.  ;D

: Re: Africa cam
: Heighway October 02, 2005, 07:05:27 PM
Tis funny, while I've been watching, I've seen warthogs, 6 ostrich, a herd of elephants inc. a bull and a baby, a herd of gazelle, various birds and bugs and thoroughly enjoyed it.  Went to show my husband, we watched for 5 minutes (as long as he could sit  still) and nary a thing came by for a drink.  Same thing happened with my daughter..... oh well.  Problem is, I'm not sure they believe me.  It is just way too cool!  I can't wait to show my daughters boyfriend.  His grandparents were missionaries in Botswana!  He'll believe me!!
: Re: Africa cam
: ZooCrew October 03, 2005, 02:31:46 AM

: Re: Africa cam
: Anakalia October 03, 2005, 02:44:26 AM
I haven't seen elephants yet!!! I've only seen birds and deer like creatures.  I'll have to keep checking in on that to see the elephants. :)

: Re: Africa cam
: ZooCrew October 03, 2005, 02:54:00 AM
Yeah, you have to be pretty quick to see them.  They don't stay in one place very long.

I usually keep this minimized on my computer so I can pop it up here and there when it sounds like there is something in the water......... ....lol
: Re: Africa cam
: Tulsas' Dad October 03, 2005, 04:33:32 AM
I saw Monkeys, Gazelles, Guinea Fowl, Ostriches, a Raptor with a white head, and the Elephant, too!
: Re: Africa cam
: Anakalia October 03, 2005, 05:24:18 AM
I checked when it was 7:00pm there and it was already dark?  Why do you think that is?  I thought it said it was summer there.  I'm so confused!  I've only got to see it once while it was daylight out at about 6:00am, that's when I seen all the birds.  I can't see anything very well when it's dark out.  I think I see something then it turns out to be a bush or something. lol

: Re: Africa cam
: Anakalia October 03, 2005, 12:14:34 PM
Ok here's another stupid question..... It looks like it's a desert with sand and all, but yet there are trees.  I thought deserts don't have trees?  Where's the cactuses? lol I know I'm an idiot!  ;D

It's SHOWTIME in Botswana!
And the Natives are Restless!
: Re: Africa cam
: ZooCrew October 03, 2005, 01:34:40 PM
Andi, I dont' think they're in the desert.  It's more of a savannah, which is where elephants, zebras, giraffe's etc. live mostly.  There is not much vegetation, except where there is water, where you will find clumps of trees and shrubbery.
: Re: Africa cam
: GrumpyBunny October 03, 2005, 10:36:50 PM
There are some ostriches there right now...

Ooooh, a giraffe just appeared out of nowhere too!  (Literally - the camera updated and he just appeared!  It's magic!   ;D)

: Re: Africa cam
: Anakalia October 04, 2005, 10:17:08 PM
Thanks ZooCrew for explaining it a little for me, I appreciate it.  I was just a little confused it looked like sand to me, but now that you say that it's a savannah, I realize it's dirt I'm looking at.  I hardly EVER check in when it's sunny out.  It's almost always dark when I check in on it.  OR I don't see any animals..or the darn thing locks up on me.... I'm just not having much luck with it. :)

Jaime and you need to come down here to San Diego so that we can all go to the zoo and see the pandas...   :D

I just checked again and the panda that is on camera is Bai Yun (and new cub).  Bai Yun is still sleeping.  Why does the panda still get to be asleep at 7:47 AM, and I don't?  Dang panda.
