Since you kept me from falling off the board....

Do you hate me now?
Shawna, its all good! Erin warned me, she told me to play nice as you could return the favor at the end of the week. Plus it sounds as if you do enough falling in real life I didn't want you falling off the board also.

What's your biggest pet peeve?
This is probably the easiest question you can ask. I can't stand people who go out of their way to make someone else's job more difficult.

What made you want a Newf?
When I was a toddler friends of my mom had a newf named Ebony, who surprisingly  ;)everyone called Bear. Any time we would visit she was my sitter. I could have done anything to that dog and she would have still loved me, that loyalty and love is why I wanted a newf. I have a picture of me sitting with her in a field that I will have to scan and post, a picture is worth a thousand words after all! Plus whats not to like about 100+ pound dog as aloof as a newf.

If you could live anywhere where would you live?
Anywhere would be Kauai, Hawaii, more realistically some where in New Hampshire or the foothills in Colorado. If I did move to Colorado, I would miss the ocean though.

Favorite food?
Lobster, after that it would have to be a good cut of meat or pasta like fresh fettuccini and an alfredo sauce.

What's one thing you've always wanted to do, but haven't yet?
The first answer that comes to mind is vacation in Hawaii.

Happy Monday ...,. time to get you back on top of the board! We CANT having you falling off.  :)

Here are some of my standard questions - to get you warmed up!  ;D

Favorite song?
For the past few months I've been turning the radio up for Green Day's Holiday.
Favorite singer/band?
I don't really have a favoite group, and while not a Aerosmith groupie I would love to see them in concert.
Favorite movie?
Skulls, its about the secret society Skull & Bones on Yale's Campus.
Favorite actor?
Was Bruce Willis until I met him, he's a drunk. I would say Robin Williams is my favorite, he is just so funny.
Favorite actress?
Would probably be Julia Stiles, if not her then probably Reese Witherspoon. They are both real, suiting the roles they take, leaving  the story lines in their movies much easier to believe.
Favorite book?
Right now I have a Phaidon Atlas on contemporary architechture that I like to look through. For a novel I havn't read much since I left college so the only thing that is standing out is The Da Vinci Code. Notice the trend another secret society.
How do you like your popcorn?
All about the butter.
Food you dislike?
I have a very low tolerance for spicy food so I would have to say anything hot :'(
Favorite time of the day?
I am a fan of late afternoon just as it starts to cool back down.
Favorite time of the year?
Favorite time of year would be Spring and Fall. Fall edging out the Spring because of the lower rain fall.
If you could meet/have dinner with someone present or past, who would it be? why?
This would have to be my Mom's Grandmother. She passed away just before I was born and to hear my Mom talk about her just leaves you feeling as if you missed out on something by not having met this woman.
Favorite color?
Blue,and metallic Red
Favorite school teacher? why?
My third grade teacher Mrs. Campbell, I was in one of her first classes and her approach was so fresh, I believe she was also the only teacher to have both of my sisters and myself in her classes.
Favorite childhood memory?
My summer vacations with my grandmother to Vermont.
Most embarassing childhood memory?
I'm not thinking of anything which isn't good as now it will probably bite me in @ss.
Do you remember your first crush? When was it? Who?
My first crush was a girl Keri in my Kindergarten class. While I haven't spoken to her in about ten years, I talk to her Mom and Dad at least once a year, kinda odd ha.

What do you think you will be doing in 10 years?

What other type of dogs would you like to have? ;D
: Re: Hot Seat # 29..........Tim! (Tspanos)

What do you think you will be doing in 10 years?
I'm not sure what or where I will be in ten years, hopefully I'll have started some kind of family. I really would like to be back in school finishing a DVM at that point but we'll see.
What other type of dogs would you like to have? ;D
You mean there is a breed other than Newfoundlands :o.
Seriously, I've always liked Goldens yet never been owned by one and the Wolfhounds in Kali's puppy class are pretty cool too.
My first dog was an Irish Setter named Tammy. She was actually my Mom's but when I came along she decided I was a better source of food if you catch my drift. Our last Irish, Sammy was special because among her many other special attributes she was our "the kids' dog". To further reinforce my love of setters, my grandparents always had English Setters. So the lack of a neurotic Setter in my life right now is a little difficult but at least I have my monster bundle of joy ;D.

Hi Tim,

I'll get on the thread.

What is your degree in and from what school?
My degree if/when I finish is in Animal Science.
Is your job currently in the field you got your degree in?
No, it is about as far from it as possible. I am a high stakes BJ dealer.
Movie night, at home as a single or two some or with the gang and some beer?
I prefer me and at least someone else, but lately its been just me and Kali.
Sleep in PJ's or something else? If else what?
I sleep in boxers and a T-shirt. Funny thing is I still keep my pants on the floor next to the bed in case Kali wants to go potty in the middle of the night, just like when she was a puppy.
Boxers or briefs?
Boxers
Beach or mountains?
Can I have both, maybe like the Oregon coast. I think I lean toward the beach even though I'm not a sunbather, I enjoy hiking along the coast more so than in the mountains. There is something about the sound of the surf and the wind blowing through the grasses that is so calming.
Person from History (not a relative)living or dead you'd most like to have lunch with.
The first person who comes to mind is Frederick Law Olmsted. He is the designer of NY Central Park, credited for Boston's Emerald Necklace, and the grounds of Biltmoore House in NC. He designed landscapes on a grand scale from scratch. The kind of vision he possessed is rare and it is for that reason I would like to have met him.

My legs from all my Mtn Biking.
What is your least favorite feature?
My upper chest, I have no pecs.
If you could live anywhere, where would you live?
Kauai, Hawaii
What is your favorite city
NY would be my favorite, I have not been in Boston since the Big Dig was at its height so I can't remember much of it. I can't stand Miami and Jacksoville has entirely to many bugs.
What city would you like to travel to?
Seattle, hands down, the REI flagship store and the Pikes Place market would be tops on my list of destinations. DC is probably second for all the monuments and the Smithsonian.
What makes you smile?
Kids being kids ;D.
What makes you laugh?
The stupid things people do at the casino I work at.
What makes you cry?
The times I've been at the clinic for euths, you know its right but it is so hard.
What makes you angry?
Easy, people who try to make other's work more difficult.
What is your dream job?
Large animal veterinarian, no biting or scratching just kicking.
What subject in high school did you find useless?
Health
What subject did you like the best in high school?
I loved Anatomy & Physiology.

NY or Italian Cheesecake

Fresh cut grass, vannilla, CK One
Reality TV, addicted or just a bunch of arguing?
Use to be addicted, not so much anymore.

Did you play sports in school(if so, which)?
What fun activity do you do that helps keep you centered?
What is your most treasured keepsake?

Beer, martinis or mixed drinks?
I rarely drink, when I do its either mixed drinks or a few exotic liqueurs that I've been introduced too, my favorite being Amarula from Tanzinia(sp).
Movie theater or drive-in?
I love the movie theater especially now that we have the new one three minutes away with stadium seating. This is a big deal for us up here as the next closest theater is more than 25 miles away and nothing special.

MORE!

Did you play sports in school(if so, which)?
Yes and no I was big on soccer so I would always do intramural and occasionally would practice with the team as a goalie, but I never tried to go for the team after 7th grade as I was racing Karts. We traveled all over the NE for regional and track championships, a few of which I got. A cool little tidbit, for the racing fans out there, my last season racing Martin Truex Jr was running in the same divisionals. Now he's racing Nextel Cup for Dale Jr.
What fun activity do you do that helps keep you centered?
Mtn biking is my activity of choice. I love going out on single track and fire roads and just pushing as hard as I can or coasting along whatever suits my mood.
What is your most treasured keepsake?
Nothing is coming to mind so I'm going to have to cop out I don't know.
What one thing has made you a better person today?
If this can be a person, I would have to say my friend Beth. We have known each other since elementary school. While we don't talk as often as we used to I am confident in saying we were as close as two people can be without the relationship becoming sexual. We pushed each other past breaking points in the past yet were there to pick up the pieces and bitterly defended one another against others. We both helped the other grow, pushed the other to do better, and I know to this day that if something happened and I could go to no one else I could go to her.
If you could have grown up in any decade, which one and why?
I think the 60's would have been interesting. Our country under went so many changes as a result of different events that took place. There was the beginning of the Cold War, the Lunar landings, the Kennedy assassination, the civil rights movement, and so many more that had such a profound impact on the country we are today. It would have been cool to have experienced them first hand, but who knows maybe people will look back upon the current events of today the same way in forty years.
You can pick one super-power to possess, which one and why?
When I first read this question I thought this was in reference to a country, how weird ::). Back to the question I think it would probably be time travel. To be able to go back and see each of the great civilization would be incredible, not to mention put an end to this nagging question of what did the Dinosaurs really look like?

You are getting awfully close to the bottom of the page!

What year of school had your favorite school picture and will you post it with your reply?
What is your favorite fast food restaurant?
What is your favorite sit-down restaurant?
What is under your bed?
Favorite way to have your potatoes:  mashed, fries, baked, curly fries, etc.
On girls, polished nails or natural?
If you had to live with a family member for a year, who would it be?
If you had $10,000 to spend in one store ON YOURSELF, what store would you choose?

You are getting awfully close to the bottom of the page!
Yeah tell me about it, not to much love!
What year of school had your favorite school picture and will you post it with your reply?
I don't even know where my school pics are, most were horrendous. If I had to post one I would definitly go with one from elementary school as I was a really cute kid.
What is your favorite fast food restaurant?
 Arby's or Johnny Rockets
What is your favorite sit-down restaurant?
Steak Loft
What is under your bed?
An angry kitty
Favorite way to have your potatoes:  mashed, fries, baked, curly fries, etc.
I love baked potatoes but usually have fries.
On girls, polished nails or natural?
My nails are natural but some of the guys I work with have polished :D
If you had to live with a family member for a year, who would it be?
I still live at home. That said I couldn't live with my sister Holly if you paid me.
If you had $10,000 to spend in one store ON YOURSELF, what store would you choose?
I would need a fashion consultant but clothing from an upscale store like Neiman Marcus or the botiques on Lincoln Rd in Miami. Places I wouldn't shop at normally but if it was free I could appreciate.

What was the biggest payout you had at the Black Jack Table?
I never pay on BJ ;D, I have payed something like $98,000 in five hands on a stupid game called Let it Ride, of that $57,000 was for a Full House.
What was the most you saw someone loose at the table?
$10.3 million
What was the highest wager on 1 hand?
$50,000
Since you deal, do you Gamble?
No, exception being an occasional Powerball ticket.
Have you met anyone famous and had a conversation with them?
I've met quite a few famous people, the Yankees and Red Sox right after each won the World Series, alot of Hollywoods A-list most of whom I didn't even recognize, Bruce Willis an @ss, Will Farrell so funny. I've seen Bill Clinton perform w/ Blues Brothers. Steven Tyler, Kid Rock, and whole lot of country singers playing on tables on the other end of the pit. Made an @ss of myself with John Mayer, didn't believe him when he told me what he did for living. His sis showed me her ID.
What one thing have you done that you are proudest of?
I started my own landscaping company
What one thing you have done, would you never do again?
Worst mistake I made was telling a very good friend that I was interested in her, lets just say disaster.
What time will you and Kali be at the Cape in Dennis on the 20th?
You tell us when everyone else is going to be there, we will leave accordingly.

I haven't played yet this week!  So here goes...hopeful ly they're kind of interesting questions.

What was the first pet you owned, name, and one great memory about him/her?
The first pet that was mine was a barn kitten that my sister Holly and I adopted and named Kuddles.
Have you ever acted on a stage, and if so, what role/play?
No, I don't do well in front of large groups of people.
What is your favourite song to sing karoake style?
I would never subject someone to my singing ;D
If you could only take three things to a desert island, what would they be and why?
My first reaction is to answer a beautiful woman but when I put some thought into it I realize the novelty would wear off pretty quick if she couldn't carry on a conversation. If I can't be that picky I want one of those multi tools like a Leatherman. Second would be lots of water. Finally, can I have a Genie to get everything else I would want.
ps Is this a desert island or a deserted island?
If you had to listen to only one piece of music for the next three months, what would it be and why?
It would have to be one of those really long classical pieces, the fewer times it repeated the better for my sanity. There is no way I could tolerate a modern song looping every four minutes.
If you could visit anywhere in Canada, where would it be?
It would have to be Newfoundland of coarse. Andreau has to work for the tourism dept the way he has sold your beautiful island to all of us.

oops....a deserted island.  Duh.  And although I don't live in Nfld, I agree that Andreau could definitely be a tourism employee!  Hard not to sell the rock though ... it's amazingly beautiful.  Of course, it's a close second to my province ... Nova Scotia  :D

Yeah I don't know if I would go on Fear Factor. The two challenges that I've seen that freaked me out were the plexiglass box full of snakes, and the team challenge with those slimey african fish. I 'm also not a fan of eating bugs even if it's for that kind of money.

Oh yes, its always nice to see someone who has job worse than your own. It makes it so much easier to go to work and laugh.
