She's a 1 year old miniature schnauzer girl  :) I was just curious because after my old ms past away I contemplated long and hard as to wheather I should ever get another . I'm just scared I'll end up not loving her as much because she won't live up to his standards ? Know what I mean ?

My newfies have to lay in my back porch / laundry room until they dry off from the snow before they can come all the way into the house ... Well , I was getting a load of laundry out of the dryer and taking it into the house to fold , and since my arms were full I always use my foot to push ( slam actually , it's an old door ) the door shut , but when I did I heard this loud BANG and then the door bounced back open . My 9& 1/2 month old newfie girl , Allie , was standing there with that same old happy/dopey look on her face like " so , can I come in now ? "LOL . This happens all the time with her , she's even used her big head to slam against the door to go outside trying to get it to open ( which has worked ) . Anyone else's big paws do this ? LOL

Medical Conditions & Diseases / Bloody Diarhea ?
« on: March 08, 2006, 09:08:06 pm »
My 5 year old Newfie mix Moose got sick this past week . I took him to Minnesota with me last Thursday , he ate and pooped fine until Sunday evening when he did this gigantic normal poop right in my parents' living room ( He's NEVER messed in the house before) , then at like 4 in the morning I woke up to him throwing up on the carpet , I rushed him outside where he had the "squirts" really bad . He had another nasty accident in the living room later that morning , and diarhea all day with a little bit of blood in it. I never fed him that day . By Monday night he had no more bowel movements . On Tuesday morning he never pooped , we headed for home and about 4 hours into the trip I was walking him at a rest stop and he had just a little bit of bloody diarhea and he's been fine ever since . I should note he acted totally normal all along , bouncing around like his normal self , but totally ashamed of his accidents . I never took him to the vet because I figured if he wasn't better by Tuesday then I would , but he had just that one bout . Do ya'll think it was just stress from traveling ? I took a trip down to Kansas the week before with him for 4 days and he did fine then . Maybe just too much traveling ?? I plan on more trips to MN this summer for camping , I don't want him to have to go through that again ! :'(

I think I'm ready to finally get with the times and start looking for a digital camera ! (yay me !LOL) I know I want one that I can hook up to one of those dock thingies so I can print pics .... Or would it be cheaper to buy new printer ? What about one that doubles as video camera ? ( they make those don't they ?  ???) What do ya'll recommend ?Now please keep in mind that I'd still like to be able to eat ...pay bills .....sleep at night .... LOL so something under $300 ?? maybe $350 ??

General Board for Big Dogs with Big Paws / Un-wanted breeding question ...?
« on: February 25, 2006, 01:20:59 am »
Hello everyone ! We might be taking in a 2 year old Bulldog for just a little while . He's intact , and I'm wondering how careful I need to be with him around my newfie girl , Allie ? She's 9 months old now . Is she big enough , or can a stubby guy like him still mount ? I don't need/want any Bullnewfs ... Bulloundlands .....? :D

German Shepherd Discussions / German Bred vs American Bred
« on: February 25, 2006, 01:02:48 am »
Hello everyone ! I'm helping my sister research different dog breeds she likes , trying to find her next family member . She works with a lady who owns/breeds German bred German Shepherds . My sis will go out on Monday to see them . Anyways , my sister commented on how she's always loved the breed , but doesn't really like how their hind end kind of slumps down . The lady said her's aren't like that , and that most the GS's back in Germany aren't like that , just the American bred ones ( the lady is from Germany BTW ) so I wanted to know what all of you thought of this ? Is it true ? I myself have always loved GS's but never really liked their hind ends for some reason .
