Thanks.....Now that the voting is done...the rest of the story behind the picture.
The last dog show we went to, they had a competition for best dressed dog and handler called the "spooktacular". We asked a friend to bring a white sheet for Talon but she did much better. Her husband, who serves in the military, had brought back a real "arab" outfit from the middle east. About 100 diaper pins later it fit him. We showed Talon how to hold Amy, so she would behave for him. ( He also had a hand full of bait, which was all his idea,... Amy never gets bait in the ring ). They never even made it to the ring and people were stopping them to get pictures. There were about 20 dogs entered and three judges along with the crowd. The louder the cheering the better for the entrants. After everyone had made there walk around the ring the judges picked three finalists. Amy and Talon made the cut.
One judge then interviewed the three. Talon was first. As soon as the judge came over, Amy lay down just like a real camel who was waiting for someone to jump on. The judge asked Talon his name. He got that right. (He just turned 6) He then asked what his dog was dressed up as....Talon answered, "Irish Wolfhound"...he was nervous....he asked again and Talon replied "Amy"....he was really nervous now...( he later said he just about cried but won't admit to that now ) After the third time, he got it right and answered "Camel".
After the other two interviews, the judges got the crowd to cheer for each entry. We had never heard that much noise at a dog show.....Amy and Talon won. They won " the biggest ribbon ever", lots of toys and treats for them both. On the way home we had trouble explaining to Talon, why he and Amy did not get any points for their big win....
