HELP! Kiah has been throwing up all morning and has the runs. Any ideas on how to make her feel better? She seems ok physically. I already took her food away. If she got into anything it would have been in the yard. Nothing missing or chewed on in the house.

could be just gastritis... summerizing other posts:

fast for 24 hrs.
feed slippery elm bark powder.
feed canned pumkins
then proceed to plain yogurt
then graduate to 3:1 rice:ground beef ratio

if does not improve over 2 days, hit the vet.

How old is this puppy?

If under 12 weeks, I would consider this a STONE COLD EMERGENCY.

I would be at my vets NOW NOW NOW getting a parvo test.

Do not take a chance.

Get moving.

In fact I'll modify that to say any puppy under 6 mos.

An occasional bout of vomiting, OR diarrhea for a day or 2 is not much to worry about usually.

Vomiting WITH diarrhea would have me RUNNING to the vet with most dogs, but ESPECIALLY WITH A PUPPY.

Listen to me. DO NOT TAKE A CHANCE WITH THIS. Get IN your car, and get the puppy to the vet, and INSIST on a Parvo test.

If it was just diarreaha I would hold off for a day or two but the vomiting really concerens me too!...My vet has told me that vomiting with diarrhea is a reason for an immediate vet visit...I am praying for her good health!

Kiah is 6 1/2 months old and is fully vaccinated. I called the vet and he said to hold off for 24 hours. I just picked up the poop from today and there was only one running pile. The rest was okay. She has pooped more then normal. Little piles here and there. The vet wasn't concerned yet because Kiah hasn't been around other dogs and there's no blood in the stool.

I hope all is well, and she is feeling better soon.

Vaccines are NOT foolproof, and vaccination is NO guarantee of protection unless you have made certain with blood titers.

Vomiting, inappentence plus diarrhea is an emergency for me with any dog, but especially a puppy.

Please keep us updated.

Hey RedyreRottweil ers if I take Kiah into the vet what should they do and look for? She just puked up water that she drank. I told them the symptons over the phone and the vet said to wait 24 hours. So what do I need to push with the vet? She is acting normal. She puked then chased a fly. Thanks for your help.

Busa gets like that from time to time. Sometimes I come home from work to find diarreah and throw up. I don't feed him until the next day and he is usually fine. I would not go longer than a few days. I think he may have eaten something that did'nt agree with him and he needs to get it out of his system. I hope thats the case with your baby! Busa is 1 1/2 years old.

It may be a little overdone but I have two vets for my babies.  If I have a question I ask both.  Just makes me feel a little better.
