haha my dane girlie is like that to..and the bad news is, shes not a pup. LOL. you just need to wear her out, danes dont require huge amounts of exersize but sometimes there brains do. also i would get her into some obediance training, it stimulates them mentally and phyically. and she would really benifit from going to dog parks, or somewhere she can play with other dogs, other dogs are not gonna let her knock them over without correcting the behavior. or course supervise that these corrections dont hurt her or anyone else. And dont go to the dogpark untill she's totally completed her vaccinations. hope you post some pics of your new baby- i would love to she her!

well BOTH parents don't look 100% st. to me, to short, to light boned, not very heavy heads, and funny lookin' coats. color isn't everything. even the pups look way to small with tiny looking feet. cute pups, but 300$ for a "purebred"- nah. and anymore papers dont mean anything either, even puppy mill puppies come with AKC papers! i really wish the AKC was way more involved in verifing the breed standards in a pup BEFORE issuing papers. I have heard that the jack russel club in in fact doing this.

great pic! Is Grey going blind in his right eye? It might just be the angle/light, but i couldn't belive how much he looks like my girlie- and then i noticed the eye because daisy has "smalleye"( which i found out to be a eye disorder related to the merle coloring.) and her eye looks like that when i take a picture of her!

what scares me most is some idoit is gonna buy that "rare" dane and proceed to try to breed it themselves, totally withoutany regard as to what color they are breeding it to. And just because IT can hear/see, OBVIOUSLY its carrying all those heriditary disorders that are connected to white/merle ect.
my daisy girlie was lactating when she was rescued from the shelter, no one knows what happened to the pups..but this dog should have never been bred. She has really bad comformation (her right side is actually smaller then her left, and her back is way tooooo long) she's merle,and she has horrible skin allergies as well as an eye disorder called small eye( shes totally losing sight in that eye) which is common in all merle dogs regardless of breed. I of course love her to death, but with all her medical problems and the itching skin..any pup with these same probs can soo easily end up at the shelter.
all we can hope for is that breeder has the wherewithal to require a prof of spay, but i can't she them doing that if its such a rare find..sigh...

I love this site!! what an awsome idea! i have a great dane named Daisy mae, she's my second dane and i know she wont be my last. I adopted her from a rescue that found her at a shelter ,skinny and lactating, ( we have no idea what happen to the pups- Daisy is very "mis-marked" and that in combination with a not so great comformation= she realllllly had no busness getting bred) but she's my Diva/princess and now lives a charmed life. I cant wait to make all kinds of friends here who understand what its like to only get to sleep on the corner of the bed left over from the sprawled out, completely crashed. dane.
