bear is a deep sleeper. He won't move sometimes & fakes being asleep but I know he can hear cuz he stops breathing for a few seconds. Maybe that is your dog too...a big faker. :)

It is nice that you already have a "dryer" and don't need to invest in a new one. We have a double-engine dog dryer that gets the job done quickly.

That is awesome that he watched them! Next year you'll have to  tape his reaction so we can see how cute he is too. Bear is the ignorer, he could care less.  ::)

Michael sent me this clip yesterday and I cried...big baby, I know. I just thought it was so cute that I had to share. The bond between families- non-human and human members clearly can't ever be broken!

Horray! I'm so glad everything went well. Give her big hugs and extra loves tomorrow...and I don't thin extra treats for 1 more day will hurt her. ;)

Sheesh! I can't believe the amount of the surgery!! We had Bear done this past March because we never plan on breeding him but he drove me nuts for the first time ever and it became mandatory in LA to do it. SO, we called many places- yes I love my vet too but wasn't about to do it for $700 and that was the cheapest we could find. Mind you, his balls were fully grown.  ;) We ended up getting it done at a low cost clinic for $150 and they did a terrific job. He healed so quickly I thought they did something wrong.  :D I haven't heard about surgery to alter the sac but his sac was empty and long right after but has since shrunk a good amount. However, he has the long Newf hair on the back of his legs and so you can't tell anything is there or missing at all. Good luck!

I'd take her up on her life saving skills any day.   :) Good for you for taking your baby to a place she loves where she can get an extended low-impact exercise. She looks beautiful in the water too!

Alrighty- as promised here are two videos.  :) They are what I consider training videos and since this was only day 2, practice 5 I think he did rather well. Excuse me in the video as I was still in pj's and Michael is a bad videographer.. .I was supposed to be to of it.  ::)

The first is the "real" version for smaller dogs and the second is what I call the Bear size pole weave.  :D You will probably notice how he completely ignores poles that he knocks over. Silly boy!

Groans, Gripes, Brags & Boasts / Free speech is over rated!
« on: June 28, 2008, 10:35:48 pm »
Tonight we're enjoying the cool air & taking a slow walk through our little park when some jerk starts talking. He asked what kind of dog we had and I told him. Then he asks- "How can you be ok with that? Your dog is obviously sad! Look at him- in prison with a chain holding him down" blah blah blah. I didn't know what to say other than get very upset and so e walked away- quickly- but he kept on and on. Sometimes being able to speak your mind is so not ok. And living in downtown LA with all of the unstable bums, talking back is never a safe decision, especially if it is a disagreement.  Gr....people suck sometimes!
