Ok, I find this kind of weird. There are two things that just make my dane melt.

A. She loves when you make little kisses all over her muzzle and head.
B. She loves when you whisper ohhhhh so softly in her ear.

Its weird, she just closes her eyes and falls into you, like its something absolutely amazing. I don't get why she loves it so much. Anyway I just wanted to share that, I was wondering if anyone else finds it kind of odd (but cute) and if anyone elses pups had any weird things they liked.

FAQs about puppies / HELP! IM FINDING TEETH ALL OVER MY HOUSE!
« on: August 01, 2007, 09:42:22 pm »
arg, so my baby started losing her teeth... and so far ive found teeth stuck in her cheek (because theyre so long and floppy they just stick in there) on my couch, and boy are they sharp! anyway, i was wondering if anyone knows anything creative to do with them... i know that theres nothing i can do about them falling out all over my house, id rather she spit them out than swallow them anyway. but this is my man and i's first dog, and i was looking for something special to do with the little buggers. any suggestions...

Rottweiler Discussions / Re: Don't bark at me
« on: August 01, 2007, 07:37:34 pm »
Chloe only barks when she really gets into playing... but she goes nuts when you bark back. She gets excited and starts wagging her tail and licks you like crazy.

yeah when i told my man about her lost tooth he told me we have to save it.. and i told him "oh yeah and we should put it under her pillow for the canine fairy and she will have a new toy in the morning right" hes such a dork. but thats ok.. i dont think we will ever have children, so our pets are our children... its cute. im just glad shes doing better! when i got home from work today she actually ran up to me. it was so good to see her do that and not just scoot around in pain!

SOOOOOOOO its been over a week and Chloe hasent had a flare up of her HOD (thank god!) Its been a weekly relapse since she got it, so this is one step foward! Shes been up and walking every day, in fact, shes starting to almost walk normal! She was up this morning and had her stuffed toy and was swinging it all over the place while she was standing, and she didnt fall over or get wobbley. Thats really amazing for her. SO, she had to go to the vet yesterday for her checkup since she had such a bad flare up of HOD. He checked her over and she was looking good... except for two things.. i asked about a clump of hair on her hip, it was all matted together, and when i picked at it a little (thinking there was something stuck in it) it was a sore. SOOOOO he shaved her bottom (poor girl with her nakie butt) and it was a small case of dermatitis. He said she had probably had a little sore spot from laying around before and she chewed at it. SOOOOO shes got medicated cream for that. BUT it doesnt end there. I had noticed the last two days she had been coughing a little, mostly after she ate. Doc tried to induce a cough and sure enough, she coughed, and coughed, and coughed! Next thing hes got his fingers down her throat and said "oooohhh yeah, shes got bronchitis" THANK YOU CHLOE! the vet just got back from vacation and shes already trying to pay for his next one!! I swear if its not one thing its another! but since shes started her antibiotics for it shes stopped coughing, and her sore is healing up from the cream. BUT, I do have a question!!!
This morning (actually about 5 min ago before i started typing this) she was playing with her stuffed animal and i saw blood on it. So i opened her mouth to see where it was coming from and there was one of her teeth in her cheek that fell out. I was just wondering, we take really good care of her teeth, brushing and such, i just wondered if shes at the age yet where the being to lose them.. shes 5 months old...

Great Dane Discussions / Still Going Strong...(Chloe)
« on: July 28, 2007, 04:29:03 pm »
So now its been 4 days and Chloe is still going strong. Shes up every day walking around, and has had no fevers, eating well, and happy as can be! She even tried to run to her daddy when he got home from work the other day. Shes still stiff and its a little tough to move since her mucles arent as built as they should be, so instead of running she sort of bunny hopped. Its cute, but sad at the same time. Anyway, just giving the update!! Ill have some new pics up soon of her walking around!! ;D ;D ;D :D :D

shes soooo damn spoild. right now shes laying in bed next to me eating her breakfast... and getting it all over in my bed, buuuut i dont care... i have to say, its cute when we go to bring her home from the vets. the last time we picked her up we could hear everyone in the back room saying good-bye to her.. we heard a lot of "bye honey i hope you feel better! gimmie a kiss!" "awww dont go!!! im gonna miss you!!" and one girl even said "noooo come home with me!!! i wanna keep you!!!!" its so cute that she gets all that attention. atleast i know shes not being neglected, they cant resist her enough to do that!!!

295
yeah i just want it to all be over with so she can have a regular life and be a regular pup. before she got this she was just always soooo well behaved, she slept through the night the first night we had her, she crate trained without ever crying for being in it, was always sooooo great with the kids like my 1yr 8month old neice, my 1yr old nephew, etc. she learned sooo many tricks so fast, and just always wanted to love you, and all she wanted was love in return... it just sucks becuase she was always so good and she had to deal with this

296
Everything crossed, shes still doing well today! we went to Petsmart and she rode around in the cart making cute faces at everyone and enticing them to pet her... typical! two little boys ran up to her and wrapped their arms around her and she wagged her tail and licked and licked and licked their little faces. they loved her and didnt want to leave. about linda arndt, i have written to her and i did hear back. we chatted a little and she asks how chloe is here and there and keeps up on her.

yeah i did read that article when she first got it... its most def HOD. 3 vets have told me this now. theres been 2 sets of x rays and 2 sets of bloodwork a month apart to make sure nothing had changed, and anything else that might be suspicious. she is on atibiotics right now for some diarrhea but other than that shes on rimadyl and tramadol. shes doing great on them, aside from her relapse early this week. i just hope that was the worst of it and we can get on to getting better and being a puppy. by the way i brought her home last night. she looks great and actually took a few steps today!

299
we are actually going to pick her up tonight... i talked to my vet about what he thought her outcome would be, he told me its really so early to tell, and i let him know i just want to do whats going to be best for her. he told me that he wouldnt give up on her yet, its still early and shes got a chance

well, i have to say i dont like to be "racist" about certain breeds, but i wouldnt go with a pit. just because of the fact that they do take a lot more time than some other dogs... and i dont know about where you live but where i am if you have any dogs that are on the "more dangerous" list, which are dogs that are "more prone to attack" (to me that means dogs that have a bad rep already) your homeowners insurance goes up. that inclueds dogs like pit bulls, rotties, etc. or any dog with any trace of those breeds in them, such as a lab/rottie mix... i know its dumb, but i just wanted to put that out there.
