Can you believe people are breeding these dogs together and calling them hybrids. I'm so disgusted! I just don't understand the purpose. They're two totally different dogs.

I found them on petfinder. They deserve wonderful homes!

I believe it.  Anything for a buck.  What the people who buy them don't realize is they can find the same thing at the shelter for a heck of a lot cheaper.

Good luck with your ebay sales.

Thanks!  There's only a little over an hour left for bidding and it's not fetching as much as I had hoped.  At least I'll get my money back on the bed.  The rest will go into Sunney's surgery fund.

Finally got the Coolaroo Dog Beds on eBay.  All profits will go to Sunney.  He's my foster who had both back legs broken after being hit by a car.  He's had surgery on one back leg and we're now raising money for his other surgery.

Here's the link:  http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7753847332#ebayphotohosting

The lady who listed them on eBay goofed and put the starting price at $5 for a large bed!  Ack!  I know several of you had expressed interest in purchasing one, so better hurry.  The auction is up in 22 hours!

Collars, crates, & other cool things / Re: Durable Dog Beds
« on: March 05, 2006, 10:53:17 pm »
The one I made Foster has proven to be pretty much indestructible .  The first cover I made for it was out of denier canvas and it ripped.  I made the second one out of upholstry material and made it like a hamock and it has yet to rip or otherwise fall apart.

I also made some covers for "regular" on the floor beds that I filled with old comforters.  They're out of denim and so far have withstood Bella and Baloo "nesting".

All of these beds are approx 54"x36"...almost twin bed size.  But they fit the babies....

How do they hold up against chewing?

I sit here crying as Sadee whines trying to get up. She can't get her hind legs under her. She's 8 yoa, Leonberger, 115#. Today I brought home the Metacam and I'm scared to death to even try it with all the side effects. I gave her an aspirin this am, she looked pretty good this afternoon when I came home, so I just gave her 2 more. I will be leaving the forum and looking into the Synovi and Syn Flex b4 I start with the metacam. Thanks Porsha.

If the Metacam scares you, then why don't you give Tramadol a try.  It is a pain killer, very few side effects. And it's a heck of a lot cheaper than the NSAIDs.  The cheapest place to get it is Costco.  I get mine at Kroger cause they match the Costco price.

You can also use it with the Metacam and cut the Metacam dosage in half.  Problem is, Tramadol is just a pain killer, it's not an anti inflamatory.  On the K9 Nutrition group I'm on, they also suggested using Duralactin.

They have been known to eat lettuce, carrotts, green beans, celery, onions, pickles, tomatos, and olives.  Just about any kind of food you put in front of them they will chomp on.

Don't let them eat onions - poisonous for dogs.  So are grapes and raisins.

Those collars are gorgeous and I want to order, but 15' is way too small for Atticus

They make the collars themselves so I bet they could make one to fit Atticus.

Wow, those are some nice collars in beautiful patterns.  I just got Keiko a couple of new collars, but may have to shop around some more since one never showed up (I think the company went out of business w/o telling me...........c harged me, but won't return my emails and phone # disconnected)

That stinks!  If you put it on your credit card, just call the credit card company and dispute the charge.  They generally work with you on stuff like that.

She's officially off-line as of today.  Her movers were there this morning and her connection is gone.  The next few days are really going to be insane for her and the kids.  I'll be talking to her this evening again and will convey all of ya'lls concern and prayers...unle ss someone else talks to her first.  She sounded a little "harried" this morning so I know she will really appreciate your thoughts, prayers, good vibes, etc.

If you have the time to relay the messages to her Cricket, I would appreciate it.  Poor lady.  She's got a lot on her plate right now!

Heard from Deena and it looks like it's only a matter of time before her father passes.  And if that's not bad enough, she's trying to move to AL!

If you guys want to pass on your prayer wishes to me, I will be more than happy to forward them to Deena.  She'll probably be off the board for a few weeks.  If you have her email address, go ahead and send them directly to her.  I'm sure she could use all the encouragement she can get right now!

I just say April's post on another list.  I let her know that Tamiflu is now being used with great success for dog and pups with Parvo.

I also didn't know that bleach doesn't kill anything.  Guess I'll use the bottle of bleach I bought to whiten my whites and go buy a bottle of Lysol!

Tajsa, are the vets treating your girl with Tamiflu?  There has been very good success with using it to cure Parvo.  It's the same Tamiflu that everyone is stockpiling to treat the bird flu, so I imagine it is very expensive.

If your bother's dogs have all been vaccinated they should be okay, but there's never any guarantee.

Now if only someone would come up with a cure for distemper!
