Great Pyrenees - non guardian - in need of a home in TN
« on: July 28, 2006, 12:15:24 pm »
I got this email from a rescue person I know in TN.  She rescues, retrains, and rehomes guardians.  She has this one male that is not going to make a guardian and she is looking for a pet home for him.  Apparently he is a HUGE dog even for a Pyr.  I'd post this direct to Chelle but Pippin might kick his butt, so he's still up for grabs...lol

If anyone is interested in "Big Dan" contact Brenda directly at DaylilyRidge@comcast.net

Hi Jackie,

I have a 5 year old "yard dog" that will never be a guardian--he wants to
guard me and follow me everywhere. He even will jump into the back of my
truck to ride. I have a special cage on the truck bed that prevents the dogs
from getting out/jumping overboard. Do you help place "yard pets"? He is Big
Dan on my PetFinder page
http://search.petfinder.com/petnote/displaypet.cgi?petid=6460898 and if you
do, keep him in mind.

The lady that has him now does guardian rescue.  She's great at evaluating them. And she loves her rescues to death.  So I bet my bottom dollar he's a good dog.  Just knowing her... Jackie

It's great to know that someone like that is doing rescue. It's an inspiration. :)

OH MY!!  Not to get off topic, but I thought I'd never ever been in contact with a real pyr before UNTIL I seen that lion cut!! When I was a groomer two BIG white fluffy dogs came in during the summer and I had to give them the lion cut!  lol  I didn't know what breed they were at the time (over 7 yrs ago) but after seeing that pic they were both definitely pyrs.  They were the most gentle, loving souls ever!!  Constantly giving me kisses and nudging me the whole time.  Wow, what I wouldn't give for more space and $$$ I'd take that boy in a heartbeat!  I hope he finds a forever home really soon!
