Rare Breed Mastiff Discussions / Re: Rare Breed types & who owns them
« on: September 10, 2006, 03:40:56 pm »
I own Olde English Bulldogs (they are considered to be in the 'Mastiff' Group) and a Dogue De Bordeaux.

I have a Dogue De Bordeaux, I don't know what the US breed standard states, however here in the UK the Dogue De Bordeaux standards states that dogs should wiegh at least 50kg (110 lbs) and bitches should wiegh at least 45kg (99lbs).

Hope this helps.

This may sound a little strange but usually when things like this happen, it does not usually effect me.
But I must admit I was deeply shocked when I heard it on the news today  :'( :'(  All very sad, the guy was a legend with a natural affinity for all animals that grace this earth.  The world of conservation I am sure is in deep shock as he was one in a million.

Spike is my bestest boy sometimes I feel honoured to own him, he's such a good dog, great with all dogs & pups, he loves snuggles with the cats too  ;D  Just don't tell him I told you all  ;D  I kept English Bulldogs for many years but became disillusioned with the breed, won't bore you all with that though  ;)

Thanks for all your wonderful comments  :)

 ;D

Not really, I did have 7 dogs but the ex Husband took two to live with him when we seperated.  Our Poodle x was his dog, her best friend was our Stafford the two were inseperable so when we parted I realised that he couldn't take the one without the other.  Must admit I have missed both the girls  :(

Here they are.

I will post more photo's I have so many of them at different stages in their lives ;D  Trying to get one of them altogether is really difficult, they fidget much too much especially as the pups are still learning the 'Stay' command so if one of them happens to move they all do  ;D  Pearl does look quite a bit different now, shes lost most of her 'Puppy' appeal but still very much a very pretty young lady  ;D

I recently seperated from my Husband (who I should point out was a dog lover) just posting to say it's hard when a relationship breaks down so in that respect I know what you are going through.

On the other hand if in the future I were to meet someone else and they couldn't accept my dogs, they would be out the door before their feet could touch the ground.  Dogs have always, always been a very big part of my life.  I only live by two Rules now...Love my daughter, Love my dogs!  If a man cannot accept my daughter or my dogs then he's really not worth knowing  :)

He was so Handsome (Maybe I am a little biased  ;D)  Love the St Bernard, would really like another but with two pupsters it would be really hard as they take up so much of my time as they are not too far apart in age (Not one of my cleverest moves I will admit, but nevertheless wouldn't be without either of them  ;D)
I love all dogs, but the Molosser group are my favorite  :)
Bruno had a very big heart and loved everyone and everything he came into contact with, knowing my boy I bet hes taken all under his wing  :)
