   when ever my hubby takes off on his bike (harley) dakota barks like a fool and if one drives by the house he barks too,i don't get it he's been around harleys all his life.....

Maybe it is not the bike but the fact that his daddy is leaving on a loud machine that is much different from his car.

I would agree that it is probably the leaving aspect of it more than the noise of it that makes him upset. He has learned that the motorcycle starting usually means daddy is leaving, and dog like to have their family around.
