Hi, I'm new here. I have 4 dogs at the moment. I'm a second generation dog musher, and I'm entering my first race (Jr. Yukon Quest) next year.
At the moment, I have 4 dogs.
Kaltag ("Kallie") is a Canadian Inuit dog/Malamute mix.
Sherwen and Tyrone are Alaskan huskies.
Jacques is a Bichon frise.
Here's a picture of the team:

Hi Kristen,
Your dogs are wonderful! Great stories too. I'm new too, but everyone here makes you feel right at home. Within a week or two, you won't be feeling like the new kid on the block.
Good luck with your race, post often esp. pics.
Deena
P.S. Let's see that Bischon too!

Beautiful dogs! Welcome to the site, it will be great to have someone with mushing experience. I currently have a 6 1/2 month old mal, she will be 7 mos on the 18th and we are looking into her pulling as soon as she is old enough.

Welcome, Iam pretty new here also, you have a really nice looking team.
I think you are going to like working with the mals, they should do well in the Quest. Looking forward to hearing how they do.

What a great gang you have! We want to see the pics of the bichon too :)
Best of luck in the upcoming race! Keep us posted on how it goes.

Welcome!

Thanks for the welcome ;D.
Arcticjoe, so far I'm pretty pleased with Kallie. I haven't seen a centimeter of slack in her tugline and she responds to her commands near perfectly. If most Mals are like that, I think that I'd love more.
I added a picture of Jacques. He wants to be a sled dog when he gets big, lol.
The other dog is my neighbor's Sibe mix, Gayla. I'm going to see if I can borrow her this winter. She was originally a stray, picked up and trained by a musher, and then given to my neighbor. She's a bit fat, but she seems to respond to training really fast (I think that she's glad to be out of the backyard to tell you the truth!).
