So I thought we had picked out our new little Saint puppy after trying to decide between the two short-haired males that were available. But a couple of nights ago, Gil and I were looking at the pictures of the puppies again (that was our first mistake) and then the second guessing began. We called the breeder to see if the other male was still available (our second mistake) and he is since the ad isn't going into the local paper until the weekend. So I decided to go look at the puppies again (third mistake).
When I got to the puppy room, all 11 puppies were sleeping and awoke when they saw me. I was hoping for a clear sign to happen as to which puppy I should choose but they both were the first two to run over to me. So, I took more picture, held and cuddled them both and told the breeder we would confirm by Friday which puppy we want.
Since it's too early to get a full sense of their personalities (they are five 1/2 weeks), we can only go on looks and size. Gershwin A (our first choice), has uneven mask on his face, with one side having more black than the other. He's currently smaller than his brother, Gershwin B and will not resemble his father as much. His head will not be as massive as his fathers, so he will have a longer snout and shorter ears. He also has a monk's cap on his head.
Gershwin B is a big chubby boy who will look a lot like his father (see picture attached). He also has a monk's cap on his head too. His mask is symmetrical on his face.
Argh! Even as I type this I realize how fruitless it is to try and decide. We will have to draw straws unless, when we go see them on Friday, one of them does something (like talking in English) to make it a no brainer for us.
So, out of curiosity, which puppy would YOU chose?
