Here's a photo of Maxwell at the beach. He's a chicken sh$%!

Here's Maxwell the first time he's ever seen a beach or been near water.  He wouldn't go swimming but did run around in the water.  He's with his cousin Jake.  (Billybooker's dog)  He got more enjoyment out of the seafood buffet on the shore line.  He was rummaging through clam shells looking for a snack.  Just like Maxwell, surrounded by birds and beach and all he could think of was his stomach!!!  He did get lots of excercise and enjoyed playing with the local kids.

Yeah, he's a pretty big boy.  He's 13 Months old.  Not sure how much bigger he'll get.  He's over 35" tall and I would guess about 160 lbs.  Haven't weighed him in a while.  I'll have to take him to the vet for a weigh in.  I can't believe he was 8 lbs a year ago!!!  My god they grow up so fast!!

that's so strange.. nikki's first time at the beach (didn't take pix.. digicam STILL broken.. plus, digicam + lake water == broken digicam so...) was kinda like that too. she would trot along the shallow shore line, but not go r0mp in the water. until the Golden started running into the deep, then she followed... but once in the water, she looked like a deer frozen in headlights and we had to cajole her to move ???

i thought these dogs were s'pose to love the water. (snow, water, same diff?)

Yeah, I know what you mean.  I can't trust Maxwell too much off leash.  This beach was pretty empty so I let him loose.  My old cocker was with us too and Maxwell usually listens to him and will not stray too far away from us.  We're lucky that we can trust him with strangers.  He totally loves people and is crazy about kids.  You never know, I might have to make him a kid someday!!  Ha Ha!!  My hubby better not read this because he wants kids and I kinda don't at this time.  I don't want to give him any hope at this point!!!  My uterus not his!!!  I'm a meanie!! ;D
