I've been watching Mariah and Kaver, Peregrine Falcons, for a few years.  Mariah just laid her first egg Monday.  It's really cool to watch them between the time thay hatch and the time they fledge.

Check them out and read their history.

In the last few years Mariah has had 4 - 6 eggs; she just laid her 3rd one this morning.

Here are a couple more links that cover this pair:

It's a small world. I too have been watching them for several years. Have learned quite bit too.

Hey Cindy.  I wanted to say "thanks" for sharing the link to Mariah and Kaver's nest because I have had so much fun watching the pair.  My boyfriend and I were on pins and needles waiting for her third egg checking in almost hourly and then finally accepted there would only be 2 babies.  WOW did she surprise us this morning.  I can't wait to see the eggs hatch.

There are now four eggs!!!

Don't think there will be any more but you just never know.  Now we sit and wait for them to hatch.  Then the real fun begins.

They are so fascinating.  Several years ago, (about 15!)  we had a pair of Peregrine falcons nesting at the top of our pine tree in the back yard.  It was the best real-life science lesson I could ask for for my kids.  Thanks for sharing those links!
