well, i realized when i put my stuff in this aquarium, i don't like it and want to completely redo it with rocks ha ha. guess i'll have to figure out a trip somewhere to get some! anywho, besides the chaos of the stuff inside looking really puny and just "wrong" here are a few pics. also, got 4 new fish today, WHOO HOO! right size, too. most of my fish are between 3-4" now, and these are right at about 3 1/2". the second pic is all four of them, and my oscar being an idiot. anywho, here are a few pics.

thanks everybody! we "overstock" our tank, because i like all the fish (we have 24 fish i think right now) and because it helps keep aggression down for the most part. not to mention there are just SO many pretty cichlids, how can i not have them?? we have a ton of colors from "camo" to blue to yellow to spotted. they're just awesome. our fish get fed more than my family does :-[ we feed 4 times a day usually because it helps give all of them a chance to eat, since they all rush to the top of the tank when they see me grab the fish food and not all of them get to eat every time ha ha.

our pH stays at 8.0 typically, unless we have problems. we have crushed coral substrate, and we have a single piece of tuffa rock. we also typically add epson salt, aquarium salt, and a little baking soda at every water change to help keep the pH up, and the water buffered really nicely. we also feed color enhancing food. the other day i went out and bought two crayfish and they're doing great even though they're usually cold water. my oscar THRIVES in this environment, and is actually doubled size in about 2 months! he's also doing great with having the water temp set at about 76 degrees, too. oh! this tank is a second hand also, hubby only paid $200 for it because the guys fish all died and he got tired of dealing with it!
