do dogs sob

This is a wierd question I know but... do dogs cry even sob. Miss Ellie has done this a couple of time.. acted and sounded like she had the sobs. Anyone else experenced this the last time she did it was this morning after I had left for work. Is this something I should worry about? Any help would be appreciated.

okay, does it sound like "hu hu hu, huh."????  If so, my Roo does that every once in a while.  But it's more like she's catching her breath, not a sad thing.

she will do it in the morning usally no exertion before she does it
