Elliot is being held at the Knox County Humane Society in Mt Vernon, Ohio. He is a rescue from the County Animal Shelter.
He is about 6-9 months old and wieghts about 65 lbs. He is 50% Great Pyr we gruess and one of the calmest dogs I have ever met for his age. On May 21st we got him from the shelter and he did not know what a collar was. One week latter he walked in a parade with 30 other dogs flawlessly. Today he mingled with a crowd of several hundred and at least 50 dogs of all sizes and ages at the Humane Society adoption booth.
And yes I have been a silent member of this board but didn't want to mess with the girls night out atmosphere that has prevailed.

Thanks, Jabear.
Kudos to the whole team for an excellent site.
We are trying to further the spay and neuter philosophy here in central Ohio and find homes for the many needy dogs in our area.
On a personal note - Our household includes a GSD - Buddy, a Yellow Lab - Daisy, a Corgi - Megan, Alpha Mom - Ellen, Alpha Dad - Thom and two prodgity - Kara and Tom each of them have their own den.

Crikey!!! I wish I lived in Ohio, I'd take the poor sweetie in!!! :'(

Is he in a "no-Kill" shelter, or is there a risk of him running out of time? Can donations be made to give him more time to find a home?

Lea,
Elliot is at the Humane Society and we are not a perfect no kill rescue (space and funds are limited) but he is safe. We WILL find a good home or a rescue for him.
We had him at that Pet Parade for 4 1/2 hours and not a tantrum out of him.
My wife and I are weaking; he might become number 4.

P.S. New pictures are coming - Elliot in the wide open spaces.

2 dogs were perfect - 3 became a challenge - but at this point 1 more or 10 more wouldn't make a difference! GO FOR IT!!! He is such a cute guy - and the reward will far outweigh the extra room he will take up!

Hi Thom, first Id like to say welcome, it is so nice to hear from someone new.

we have 4 dogs here, one bullmastiff, one eng. mastiff. one husky and one golden x, if I can do it, you can too  ::) Really the hard part is to go from one to two hmmmm if I remember right, I cant even remember when I only had one dog  :P

The baby is too cute, it is unbelivable that he is in a shelter, how did the adoption day go, did you adopt out any dogs??
