Is meistersinger bloodlines a good thing.  I have seen this bloodline in a few ads for Great Dane pups???

It's an old Dane breeder.  They were top dogs in their day but because the kennel name is so popular, everyone wanted Meistersinger lines in their dogs.  As is the problem with all fads, it eventually trickled down to the less scrupulous "Breeders".  A great great grandchild of a Meistersinger dog could have no resemblance to it's champion ancestor, but the breeder sells the pup on the name.  That's why when ever I talk to someone looking for a Dane, I emphasize researching ALL of the pedigree, not just seeing Meistersinger, or BMW and assuming it's a great dog.
