A 130 lb Newfie walking down a wood floor with a pound of gum drops stuck on one foot.

I forgot the 2ft rule. Anything edible needs to be kept two feet in from the table's edge.

I guess I can't rinse them off and put them in the candy bowl?

I would have to say that the 5 second rule doesn't apply here!  How did you manage to get all of the candy out of his fur?

I thoguht that was rule number 1 in the puppy manual.    I too learned it the hard way...and i think it took me a few times to learn it the hard way too.
