Old English Mastiff Discussions / Re: Dew Claws
« on: July 11, 2005, 03:10:01 pm »
My puppy Zoe has dew claws and our vet will be removing them when we have her spayed. My vet said that if they are not removed at three days old they need to wait until they are sedated. I hope I spelled that correctly. This was his opinion. Good Luck.

Thanks Neosmomlisa. We have given her multiple toys Kongs included but I think she is just getting bored. I will have to buy more kongs and try the peanut butter I haven't done that one yet.

My OEM puppy Zoe 10 weeks old now wants to chew on everything. We have tried Bitter Apple, Repel, and some other repellents but they seem to make her want to chew it more. Anyone have any ideas? My furniture and baby's toys need help. Thank you.

Has anyone tried the Barf diet with their dogs? If so how is it working? I have read a little about it and would like to know more. Thanks

Thanks, when my vet checked her out two weeks ago he said it was better for her joints if we kept her lean. We are feeding her Eukanuba(I hope I spelled it correctly) Large breed puppy food three times a day at about 2 cups of food per serving. Our vet said that this food and amount was ok for her breed. He would like her to be lean until she is about 2 1/2 or 3. Thanks for the advice

I was wondering the same thing. How big my OEM Zoe will get. She is 10 weeks and 27lbs. Her mother was 205lbs and her father was 245lbs. I am wondering if she is small for an OEM at this age or is she on track?

Anything Non-Dog Related / Re: My New Topic: What do we drive

We have polar opposites for cars and dogs. We have a Scion XB and a Ford Expedition, and for dogs my wife has a Bichon Frise and I have a OEM. I love this site too everyone is so positive. (I had to add that in)

Old English Mastiff Discussions / Re: FREE FEEDING OR NOT???
« on: July 02, 2005, 12:24:42 am »
We never free feed. Our dog trainer said it creates bad habits the main one being that we can't predict when she will go to the bathroom. So we feed our baby three times a day about 2 cups of food and she is very happy with it and so are we, at this crucial potty training stage we need to control her eating.
