I never got to have a dog while I was growing up..In fact Samson was my first dog & I got him Nov. 2004...I was watching my son with Sam & Rosie tonight & felt compelled to grab my camera...Pippi n was a butthead & wouldn't come out of the yard to play. :D Anyway, here is a typical night around here...I am so happy we have dogs & kids...This is the stuff 8 yr. old dreams are made of...I can't see my son ever forgetting these days. :)

Those are great pics! The last one is priceless! And you're right, he'll never forget these days.

I never had a dog growing up either. I think I over compensated a little. From those great! pictures I don't think your son will ever forget growing up with his fur siblings.

I love that you call them his fur sibs!!!...My children both call our dogs their "real brothers & sister" & God forbid anyone, from the grocery store clerk to their teachers, try to contradict them on that!!! :D...h*ll hath no fury like children who truley understand the God given kinship between animal & mankind! ;D

How true that is! We had a cat in the house growing up and although I can honestly say I didn't play with her that much growing up, whenever I was sick/scared/worried she'd be right there....kind of like now but it's more of having a half-wall shadow behind me 24 hrs a day!

Awwww - I think all kids should grow up with at least one dog - the world would be a far better place when those kids reached adulthood.
We never had dogs when I was growing up but luckily my great-aunt who was closer to me than my grandparents and played a big part in my life always had a dog.

Teddy is our first dog too. I think it will be good for the kids (but mostly good for me! ;) LOL)

After all we are all just big kids when it comes to our fur-babies. No one will ever understand you in the same way as that big old furry baby.

Those are great pics. :)The last one is my fav.
I agree, I think all kids should grow up with a dog. We got Bubba for all of us, but my son realllly wanted a dog. We had to compromise though because my son prefers little dogs. *gasp* LOL

Those are wonderful!! I love the last one!! Kids and dogs belong together. My daughter has two. Couldn't get any better then that!!!

I love the picture of the fur babies with your son. The huge grin on all faces in the last one says it all.
I grew up with a small mutt in the house, but she was truely my mother's dog and had very little use for the rest of us. I was truely happy to hear Nick say out of the blue the other day that he couldn't imagine living in a house without a big dog's companionship. Mission accomplished.

Great photos! I love the last one. Your son and the doggies look so happy in all the photos. :)

I love that last picture.
I can't imagine what it'd like to grow up without pets. It has made my life so much fuller. Plus pets teach responsibility and compassion (I was always more mature than everyone else in my grade). Let's see I've been around horses since I came home from the hospital, riding since I was six months. They have taught me a ton of life lessons. We've always had both cats and dogs. We've had rabbits, chins, and fish at various times. I think every kid should have some sort of animal....as my mom as always said our pets saved them thousands in psychiatrist bills.

I LOVE the last photo! I hope our kids bond to Boudreaux like that. ;D

With that last picture, I think I see the beginnings of next year's calendar: kids and their dogs!! How great is that? The look of unrestrained joy on both the dogs faces and the boy's?
The BEST!!

Very cute pictures. We always had dogs in the house as I was growing up. Usually 4 or 5. I remember as a little kid eating the dogs food right next to the dog. Mom always fed canned food. I think every kid should have a dog or 2.
I hate it when someone has a new baby and the dog is banished to the outside. I think growing up with dogs is great for kids.

I am glad you all enjoyed the pics!...I just love that last one too!...It is so much fun to watch them play together!...My daughter lays on her back & slides under Samson & Pippin like a mechanic & says "I have some work to do under here while she is rubbing their bellies...lol!...We also have 10 cats, 2 bunnies, & a guinea pig & my kids help big time with all the "critter care" as we call it...They are both really animal savvy & so compassionate towards or furry brothers & sisters needs & feelings. :)
